Agnosticism is a neutral opinion about the existence of god or gods. Agnostics believe there is not enough evidence either way to hold an opinion and so neither believe nor disbelieve that there are Gods.

They don't know and say they don't.. They won't vote either way. Gnostics on the other hand believed that special knowledge was required to get into heaven. Atheism is not believing in a God but sometimes that changes when an atheist person is in her/his 80's and fear of the dirt nap kicks in: but the Chaplains in the hospitals take care of this segment of the population oftentimes "Quick I need to become a ____ (fill in the blank) right now!"

I think you need to examine a little further than your current assumptions... Agnostics don't believe, thats why they are agnostics... They don't have enough empirical evidence to proove certain ideas, so they hold the middle ground, until an idea or hypothesis is prooved or debunked... There are permanent and temporary agnostics, though you'll have to check that up on your own..

The technical definitions: an atheist believes that there is no such thing as god. An agnostic believes that the existence of god is possible but not proven -- and possibly not provable.

and atheistic agnostic, meaning there isn't enough to know if there isn't a god or not, so they suspend beliefs.
