let me answer your question with another question... since when are "atheists" an organization, and wtf does the American Civil Liberties Union have to do with hospitals?
and if you'd like a list of secular charities (for example; UNICEF, The United Way, Heifer International, Doctors Without Borders)... they are available on the interweb, if you really want to check
(i suspect you don't)

The only reason you or any church goers pledge or donate money is to not look bad to the other people in their congregation. It is not out of the kindness in their hearts.
If you want to see pure giving take a look at the top philanthropists in the world. Billions upon Billions are donated and run by Non Religious Organizations.
Before you start pointing people out for being hypocritical, you need to take a look at your life and your deeds.
Remember, as most of your brethren have forgotten, it is still and will always be a sin to judge!!!!

I don't know, but I do know that the ACLU works tirelessly in order to guarantee you your civil and constitutional rights. Thank your God for them, which you might not have the right to do if it weren't for them.

People think that the ACLU is against religion. Among other things, the ACLU is only trying to make sure that the separation of church provision in the constitution is enforced. If our founding fathers hadn't put that clause in the constitution, we might very well be living in a country that forces us to practice a certain religion.

And how is that working out for those countries where that is the case?

Go ahead and pat yourself on the back, Detroit. I'm sure you've founded many shelters and soup kitchens, right?

A little hypocritical, don't you think?

Uhh, the ACLU defends civil liberties it does not build hospitals.

Also, most scientists and probably doctors (the ones that actually save the lives) are atheists.

I guess we'll all just have to learn to get along ;-)

I don't understand your question either. But my mother spend close to six months at the end of her life in a Catholic funded hospital and my mother was NOT a Catholic, in fact she was a Romain Orthodox and she ran up $50,000+ in bill of which Medicare paid some but not all and they never sent her a bill.

I'd like to see Atheists and the ACLU match that one exactly!

More non christians are generous and charitable than christians. Why? Because they do so by choice and out of the natural, humanitarian kindness of their heart, not because they were told.

none. because we don't have "organizations:

but lots and lots and lots of hospitals, homeless shelters, etc have been founded by atheists. and we do it out of the goodness of our own hearts, not because we want to go to "heaven" or convert people.

You would actually be very surprised.
Christians do wonderful things, don't get me wrong. But it still doesn't belong in school or in our laws.
