There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Cucumber slices never do much for me except make the area around my eyes cold.
I'd say
-any eye cream or lotion with Vitamin K or Retinol will work just fine.
-Lack of sleep may also be the cause of the darkness. Try sleeping earlier if you have to get up early. If this is hard, excersizing during the day can help. Or make reading before sleep.
-Also try to treat your skin before you sleep. Overnight facial masks can help reduce the appearance of puffiness or discoloration, but you can also make your own. by taking a washcloth and wet it just a bit with cold water. Then squeeze out any excess water and place it over your eyes as you sleep.
-Avoid rubbing your eyes. It also may be allergies causing itchy eyes, so check if there's anything in the air, like pollen, that your allergic too and is getting caught in your eye.
-eating healthy and drinking plenty of water and liquids can help too. Adequate fluids improve circulation and dark circles are often related to lack of vitamin K or not enough antioxidants. Be sure to get plenty of fruits and vegetables, leafy greens as much as possible.
-Don't put a lot of salt in your foods. This can cause your body to retain water in wrong places. It can also impair your circulation, and cause the blood vessels under the skin to appear bluer.
-Cutting onions will help you cry out some of the moisture under and around your eyes, but don't do this a lot! I don't know why, but this helps a lot.
- I also hear that cold teabags can help if you put them on the dark areas until the tea bags become warm. Someone also told me that putting spoons in the freezer for a little while and putting them to the dark areas until they become warm can work too.

What's the reason for the dark under eye circles? If they're related to lack of sleep or malnutrition they won;t go away untilt the health issue is resolved. If they're just a part of yourself then put some ice cold tea bags on top of each eye while laying down with your eyes closed.

Put 2 spoons in the freezer over night, then apply to dark circles for 10 seconds in the morning. This supposedly works. It works for me and my mother, though some people say it does nothing.

Also- I think Ice packs would work too, if you put the corner under your eye...

Good luck

It depends on what is causing it. If it is a family thing, speak with a doctor or skin professional. It can be caused by lack of sleep, stress, or even diet, lack of sunshine or vitamin deficiency. A dermitologist would have better results for a long term cure which would be better than stuffing vegetables and eating utensils in your eyes. Good luck in your search

Chilled cucumber slices work wonders.

Edit//
Another fact is that it may not be from lack of nutrition or lack of sleep. it could be somthing thats in your family or in that area your skin may be very thin or pale that you can see darker than the regular skin tone.
I have the exact same problem and I use clinique products. But my problem is VERY bad. I'm sure chilled cucumber slicers will work great for you though. If not just dab some make up on and there ya go :]
Good Luck!

I think that if its because of lack of sleep just get more sleep. Thats the best way I think because its natural rather then doing something else. But if you want to get rid of them faster you can either get makeup to cover them or some makeup lines have cream things that you can put under your eyes and they help.

Maybelline Dream Mousse foundation works great... if you don't wanna use make-up, stick a spoon in the freezer for a few minutes, then press it gently against each eye for about 30-60 seconds each.

cucumber slices. If that doesn't work, make-up. If it is a daily thing, you might want to get your iron checked or take a daily iron supplement. Iron deficiencies can cause dark circles.
