can you please pray to heal anyone of cancer and it will be done as Jesus promised in: Matthew 7:7, Matthew 17:20, Matthew 21:21, Mark 11:24, John 14:12-14, Matthew 18:19 and James 5:15-16.
Thank you?
I notice Jesus did not say "wait" he did not say the answer is "no". He said anything will be done for you.
So you with so much faith should be able to ask anything and it will be done right?
Again Jesus said it several times no getting around about 8 quotes from the Master himself?
Actually no need but can you please explain why prayer does not work as Jesus said?

Take it outside boys- he has a right to believe, you have a right to question, and I have the right to tell you how I feel too. Get over it, step away from the religion, forgive the priest who touched you or the over religious parents, and go to the politics section Great Scots! Since when has this all turned so personal???

Dang, that is a good question. I think it might have been a way of bribing people to pray. Because before that, the Pharisees were about the only ones who could talk and ask things of God. So, Jesus comes in and bribes everyone by saying that anything that is asked, it will be given them.

God answers in his own time, which really sucks. And he also has a mind and will of his own. Jesus later says, "Let not my will, but yours be done." But that is quite different from asking and recieving.

I just thought about it, God does kind of answer in ways you can't or don't want to see, or in ways that you make sure that you see. If you ask him for a deeper relationship with him, is he just going to make that happen over-night? Or is he going to give you the opportunity to grow into a deeper relationship with him.

It all, unfortunately sometimes, comes down to God's will.

Who's John W?

BTW, my friend does have cancer. She is looking forward to being in the presence of our Lord, perfect and without flaw or pain.

I, myself, am praying for her healing.... as she is my friend, and I enjoy her company. And she is putting up a good fight, though the prognosis isn't good... but she has tremendous peace and gladly tells of her peace, despite her physical pain. She knows where she is going and is not at all anxious about the possibility of death.

When Jesus talked of asking for things in His name, He was talking to His followers, not every Joe Shmo in the world... just every Joe Shmo who believes on and receives Jesus as Lord and Savior.

You have to take the entire Bible and not just slices of it. Ever tried to pass an English Lit. class when you only read a fraction of the assigned book? Whew! I did. It just doesn't work. You can't read it in pieces and think you've got the whole thing down.

This life is not about here. It's about our eternity with Jesus. Everything we experience here is growing us up in Him. When I was a child, I did not always understand what my parents did or why they did what they did... whether it was my dad cutting an infected splinter out of my foot or standing by while I was wrapped in a straitjacket and my head was sewn up without any anesthesia (back in the 60's). But the painful things I went through were for my good... I just didn't understand why.

God's ways are higher than mine and His thoughts are higher than mine... I do not always understand why some pains must be endured.... but I have experienced the faithfulness and intense love of God and have no doubts that when I pray in accordance with His will, He gives me what I ask for... and other times, he is teaching me and/or the object of my prayers a great lesson.

Good question! Prayer does not work because of our sin and wickedness. The face of God is hidden to the sinners.

Isaiah 59: 1 Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save,
nor his ear too dull to hear.

2 But your iniquities have separated
you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear.

3 For your hands are stained with blood,
your fingers with guilt.
Your lips have spoken lies,
and your tongue mutters wicked things.

4 No one calls for justice;
no one pleads his case with integrity.
They rely on empty arguments and speak lies;
they conceive trouble and give birth to evil.

God did not break his promise, we break our relation to God.

They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Ephesian 4:18.

For the Lord to hear us and heal us we should humble our self, repent and pray to the Lord.

Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. Act 8:22

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 2 Chronicles 7:14-15

The way I understand it, it's done in God's time, which is relative to God, not us.

...and then again, maybe the "cure" for cancer is ...death?
