~In my case, not all that well. On the other hand, with each of them the upside of the cycle usually more than made up for the downside. However, I got tired and now I just stick with my yo-yo. The swings are the same but I can tuck it away in a drawer when I don't want to play with it (which is a heck of a lot more than I could do with Suzie, Diane, Pam and Imogene).

I don't think any word is necessarily "evil," but certainly most of us look at the idea of manipulating people as a less than nice quality. I understand why being called manipulative would upset you if, in fact, you honestly feel that it's not something you generally do. I would try not to focus too much on this issue. Try to stay present and conscious -- be aware of what you do and why you do it, and that should help you stay on top of any possibility of manipulating others just on the chance that you might do that. And if you don't, well that's good! In the mean time, I assume (?) that you are taking medication and getting therapy. Proper medication and the right kind of therapy (preferably dialectical behavior therapy or at least cognitive behavior therapy) will help you a lot. It is great that you have read up on BPD (I believe the experts have changed the name of this disorder to Emotional Deregulation" or something like that). You will also find some good self-help books like The Angry Heart. Lots of luck to you -- take good care of yourself!

I have no idea what "Historic Personality Disorder" is, but for "emotional manipulation" I'd say to not give in. Be strong.
