thanx,interesting read.
I don't believe my parents wanted me, so from the beginning i don't remember them as kind.
i never respected my parents and maybe someday we will become amicable or maybe we will stay standoffish relatives with nothing to say to one another .

Sometimes. My admiration and respect for my parents grew leaps and bounds as I've gotten older. My father passed away almost 9 years ago when he was 54 and I Thank God I had the chance to tell him that, despite a rocky start, if given the choice I wouldn't have picked any other man to be my father. He was a hard worker, he never complained about his health and I respected him more than words could say. My mom is just a wonderful person, she's put up with a lot of crap and she comes up smiling when the smoke clears.

I respected my parents, everything they did. There's a giant gap between my age and my younger siblings age... and it's ridiculous to see how the treat my parents, like they're garbage. It's infuriating.

I didn't totally understand them back then... and maybe i never agreed with them back then... but now i do on both.

Not when I was living at home, but now that I'm not living at home, I do respect my parent's behaviors (most of them!).

Yes I did. They were loving and wonderful to my brother and to me, they still are and I am still very proud of them. Mom is 84 and dad just turned 86.
