Abdijah kudos for breaking out the old magazines... but as you can see, the basis for wanting to show you old magazines is to show you the inconsistency in the writings. They all contradict each other.
OK, here's a question... if the Watchtower, God's only mouthpiece, is allowed to be incorrect sometimes, then what does that say? God is not capable of perfection? Did not the prophets of the Bible get it right the first time? Were they not the mouthpiece for God?
If the Watchtower is in error and does not claim infallibility, how can it claim to be the one true religion?
If the Watchtower Society is NOT infallible, then the one TRUE religion of JWs can be changed at any given moment. Truth does not change my friend. Truth is a constant, not a variable.
Why does the Watchtower claim that membership is necessary for you to be a part of the new covenant with Christ? If that is not infallible info coming from God,and you just said it is NOT.... why do you accept it to be true- when that is not in the bible?
I see articles constantly stating don't do this or don't do that because you will bring reproach on "Jehovah's organization".
Would Jehovah ALLOW His organization to be contridictary and to make mistakes, or would a TRUE organization of Jehovah be infallible? Does Jehovah make mistakes? Or does man make the mistakes?
The Watchtower society is bringing it's own reproach on Jehovah. It doesn't need your help.
Glorify His name by believing in His Son. He makes no mention in the Bible of this Atonement only being valid for 144k and needing an organization to share in this new covenant with them.

Why is it that people keep referring to the Watchtower publications as if they mean something to Jehovah's Witnesses.
No, I don't read the Watchtower other than what is used in the meetings. That is why I keep wondering why people like you keep referring to it? Did you know that the Watchtower Study articles are taken from the District assemblies from prior years. So, if you don't like the Watchtower publications, then just listen to the assembly talks.
Why not do what I do? Learn the principles of Christianity and realize that it about one's personal relationship with Jehovah God through Jesus. Then one understands that what a magazine writes does not matter. Then one understands that there are others who have learned the same things and just as the Bible says, that they form congregations and are a worldwide brotherhood.
Thus we don't give a rat's patute about what you think that the Watchtower Society has prophesied because it does not matter. The Watchtower Society can say all that they want and it does not affect Jehovah's Witnesses. It only affects those who are not Jehovah's Witnesses such as yourself.
Since you are not and have not been one of Jehovah's Witnesses, why do you care? You are not one of the faithful so Jehovah does not speak to you by means of ... anything since he has tried through is word the Bible, and his Witnesses but you don't listen just like the pharisees didn't listen to Jesus. They wanted signs like you want signs and miracles.
You seem to worship them.
You worship the Watchtower Society.
Yes, the Watchtower Society is the means that Jehovah communicates to all of his Witnesses on earth. But I don't see how that means that there is to be no error in any thing printed.
Where do you get the idea that God's mouthpiece would be error free? Where do you get the idea that God is error free? Aren't you making too many assumptions?
So you should stop focusing on the Watchtower society and publications, like I have. Focus on the meetings and what is taught by Jehovah's Witnesses as people as a whole and how one should live one's life, rather than playing the game of quote volleyball.

The Jehovah's Witnesses did not take on that name until the 30's or so. I don't know why people are talking about 100 years of false prophecies. They were bible students at that time from all the Christian religions. They even used to smoke cigarettes until continued reading showed that it was unclean. And of course several of them were standing on a bridge waiting to be taken to heaven in the fall of 1914. The important thing is that they knew that something was going to happen, it turned out to be the World War.
Jonah preached a destruction of Nineveh that never happened. Did that make him a false prophet? Now your are going to say that some do not believe that account. It may be that the story is typical of what can happen in the future.
Many religions have adjusted their views over time.
The good news has to be preached in all the inhabited earth before the end will come.

Apostates like to point out times in the past we've made mistakes, and say that if we were really directed by Jehovah such mistakes would not exist. Consider this, the Apostles on the eve of Jesus death asked if he was about to restore the earthly throne of David in Jerusalem. They were still under the impression that Jesus would set up a political kingdom on earth in their day, in spite of their following him for three and a half years, did such belief discredit there service to Jehovah? Peter once told Jesus, he would not be put to death, was Peter not really a true worshipper? Peter later denied Christ three times, Peter laterwould not associate with non Jewish Christians when the Jewish Christians were around. Paul and Barnabas had a heated dispute over Mark. There was initially an uncertainty in the congregation over following the Mosaic law. Yet, no one would question whether those first century Christians, in spite of their mistakes, were truly followers of Christ. We are directed by Jehovah's Holy Spirit, yet you still have to take into account that that spirit has to deal with the human element, which is quite flawed.
BTW....I didn't call you a name.

The Israelites where God's chosen people. Were they perfect? Did they make mistakes? King David was Jehovah's anointed king, didn't he make mistakes?
Jehovah's Witnesses have never claimed to be infallible, such as the Pope. They may have been anxious for the end to come earily on, but upon further prayer and study realized that there was a great preaching work that needed to be done before the end comes.
Jehovah's Organization is always moving forward, always advancing to maturity. World events change, we don't know what will suddenly make the governments turn on religion, but the bible does say it will happen. That will be the beginning of the Great Tribulation. Who ever thought that communizm would fall in Russia? From the study of the bible we know that we are living in the last days and need to always stay awake to what's going on and be alert, and put Jehovah first in our lives. We do not live in the past, of what benefit is it for anyone to live in the past with regards to anything. You can't expect perfection from imperfect people. The Catholic Church use to burn people at the stake for reading the bible, aren't we glad they changed their stance on that?

Why does everyone always get into other peoples believes. Come on! Live and let live. Just as little as anyone wants their believes to be attacked, so does the next. Why is there always some form of justification of your own perception by means of doing others down.
All religions have the same fundamental basis: continuation after death. Its all just a crutch!

Older Watchtower publications?
How about this:
“Someone may ask, Do you, then, claim infallibility and that every sentence appearing in “The Watch Tower” publications is stated with absolute correctness? Assuredly we make no such claim and have never made such a claim. What motive can our opponents have in so charging against us? Are they not seeking to set up a falsehood to give themselves excuse for making attacks and to endeavor to pervert the judgments of others?” Zion's Watchtower and Herald of Christ's Presence, 15 September 1909.
“The Watchtower is founded on the very pinnacle of reliable wisdom, namely, God's Word the Bible … because its words find their foundation in God's Word…. However the Watchtower does not claim to be inspired in its utterances, nor is it dogmatic. It invites careful and critical examination of its contents in the light of the Scriptures. Its purpose is to aid others to know Jehovah and his purposes toward mankind, and to announce Christ's established kingdom as our only hope.” Name and purpose of the Watchtower, 15 August 1950, 262-26.
The WTBTS has NEVER claimed to be either inspired nor infallible.
The explanations of the understanding of the meanings of prophecy were not prophecies themselves, so it is impossible for them to have been "false prophecies" in the first place.

No.
Neither Jehovah's Witnesses nor anyone else has ever read any Watchtower article which "proves" the preposterous accusations of anti-Witnesses.
Incidentally, the "Watchtower Soceity [sic]" certainly does NOT 'call its self [sic]' "Jehovah's Only Mouthpiece on earth".
If Jehovah God has a singular, capitalized "Mouthpiece", that is surely Jesus Christ. Here is a quote from their publication 'Revelation Climax':
[begin quote]
Jehovah’s Mouthpiece, his own Son, Jesus Christ, who stands “in the midst of the throne.”
[end quote]
Jehovah's Witnesses have never pretended that they are infallible or inspired. Jehovah's Witnesses have never pretended that they experience miraculous messages from God or Christ. For more than a century, Jehovah's Witnesses have always presented their suppositions as the result of sincere bible research, rather than as "predictions" or "prophesying".
Interestingly, however, even those Christians who did enjoy direct communication from heaven at times came to wrong conclusions; these wrong conclusions were even communicated "out among the brothers"!
For example, the apostle Peter enjoyed remarkable privileges in the early congregation, but it seems that he was the source of an incorrect teaching about the apostle John that was not formally corrected until several DECADES had passed, and John himself finally wrote his gospel about 98 C.E.
(John 21:21-23) Peter said to Jesus: “Lord, what will this man do [that is, the apostle John]?” Jesus said to him: “If it is my will for him to remain until I come, of what concern is that to you? You continue following me.” In consequence, this saying went out among the brothers, that [the apostle John] would not die. However, Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but: “If it is my will for him to remain until I come, of what concern is that to you?”
Jehovah's Witnesses apply the term "prophet" only in a very limited sense to themselves as a religion, not to individuals. The Scriptures indicate that whenever Jehovah purposes to execute judgment upon a people, he always makes arrangement for a 'prophet's work' as a warning. Their self-description as a "prophet" (in this limited sense) does not indicate special inspired knowledge or foreknowledge, but their willingness to perform Christ's assigned warning work in our day leading up to Armageddon.
What group is working harder than Jehovah's Witnesses to preach God's message globally (as Noah did before the Deluge)?
(Amos 3:7) For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets.
(2 Peter 2:5) Noah, a preacher of righteousness...
(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

Prov.4:18,19:"The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;they do not know what makes them stumble"(NIV)
Note that the shining of light on the path of the righteous is progressive. It keeps "shining every brighter".The experience of God's servants has been just like that.Viewing certain matters from a distance in time and with only a little light on the subject often we have had an incomplete, and even inaccurate, view of things. In such situations we may well have been influenced by previously held views. But as the light gets brighter and we draw much closer to events, then our understanding of the outworking of God's purposes becomes clearer.Prophecies open up to us as Jehovah's holy spirit sheds light upon them, and as they are fulfilled in world events or in the experiences of God's people. This is just the way Jehovah dealt with his servants from early times.
When Daniel asked for more information,he was told:"Go,Daniel, because the words are made secret and sealed up until the time of the end."(Dan12:8,9).Jesus himself did not know when the end of our present system of things would come. That is why he confessed:"Concerning that day and hour, nobody knows ....but only the Father."Mat.24:36
Just because these of the faithful slave class who are imperfect men, studied the Holy Scriptures and prayfully provided God's people with the needed spiritual food, that at the time was the best they could do,is no reason to condemn them or Jehovah God or Jehovah God's earthly organisation.
What other earthly organisation on earth takes the time or trouble to make God's Word known to the masses. What other earthly organisation is fulfilling Mat.24:14.
I know one thing, though, you and the others who joined in your 'witchhunt' are fulfilling prophecy right now.....
2Peter3:3:"For you know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires....."

I don't know if they read them or not, but sometimes they will give a thumbs down to an answer that is nothing but a quote from their own literature.
I'd like to respond to something that Moises said. He said that 'they always use old literature, not new literature'. I would like to say that the reason for using so many old quotes from WT literature is simply to inform JW's of what their relgion actually taught. For example, it's doubtful that most JW's on here ever knew from reading current WT magazines that their religion originally taught that the Time of the End began in 1799, because their current literature leads them to believe that they ALWAYS said it was 1914.
Also, Moises, Jehovah's Witnesses will not admit that anything in the WT is wrong until AFTER the WT admits it themselves. So even though there are wrong teachings in the current literature, no JW will recognize it until the WTBTS changes their teaching. That is another reason why people quote the older literature, because JW's will recognize that it was wrong, whereas they refuse to recognize there are any false teachings at present. Until the present becomes the past.
