I would choose the blue iris Primary Significance: With history dating back to Greek mythology, irises come in a rainbow of colors, the most popular being the deep blue variety. Their primary meanings include faith, hope, wisdom, courage, and admiration.

Inpatients, panies, tulips, (any kind of bulbs that will bloom in the spring time.), I would go with any flower, or plant that will come back each year. You can plant those little purple flowers, I forgot the name of them but they come before spring . Even when there is snow on the ground. I find them in SpringHill catalog all the time and they are so pretty. And there a bulb. This can be a winter flower. And plant some spring bulbs and summer bulbs. So all the time, this person will always have pretty flowers growing and adding beauty to her grave and those that visit her!

Any flowers that you chose would be appropriate. I love bird of paradise. They are colorful and long lasting when cut. But to last longer. You can plant something plant a periannual plant.

They returns yearly; ie. Daylilies, these are flowering plants in the family Hemerocallidaceae. Daylilies occur as a clump including leaves, the crown, and the roots. They are an easy care, low maintenance perennial plant.

Perennial flowers are the mainstay of every garden with plants that return year after year.

Examples of evergreen perennials include Begonia and banana.

Examples of deciduous perennials include goldenrod and mint.

Examples of monocarpic perennials include Agave and some species of Streptocarpus.

In some species, perennials retain their foliage all year round; these are evergreen perennials. My brother has such a plant that stays green all year long, blooming in the summer and spring. See photo in link below:

Some cemetaries have rules about which types of plants can be put there and which can't...... there was some kind of an issue at one of my local ones where somebody sneaked in a eukalyptus tree even though, for some reason, it apparently wasn't supposed to be there. It's still there, but mostly just because the gardener is a really sweet guy and isn't ratting on anyone. So, whatever you decide to put there, make sure it's allowed!

I would check with a nursery to find out what type of flowers would do best in your area. Perennials will come up every year and require less effort on your part.

Lilies grow every year, and they come in a variety of colors. You could also get some ivy or something like that to plant as well.

what the hell?

i mean, even if she DID kill her hubby and kids, there's no reason to disrespect her grave.

anyway, roses would be nice. so would carnations or tulips i think.

and good for you for caring. it's nice to know there's still some good out there in the world.
