It is 50 miles up the Hudson River from New York City.

The closest village is Highland Falls. It is just outside the Thayer Gate. I haven't been there since the early 1970s and it was pretty small, not a lot there.

Its not really close to much of anything, if you're going there don't even worry about the surrounding cities, cause you won't be going to any of them.
