not frivolous not trifling superficial but dealing with good priorities of the things that matter in a serious tangible way as the nitty gritty or the brass tacks . if you have your head up in the clouds you are a dreamer and some think it's a waste of time and lacks touch with reality the opposite is down to earth not a dreamer but dealing with thinks in tried a try ways of experience and fact. you have both feet on the ground and hence a stable base or stance for your mind set.

You are able to relate to others and do not live in some puffed-up sense of self. If you were the boss at work you would have no problem picking up a gum wrapper on the floor rather than step over it or have someone "beneath" you (lower status) pick it up.

It means your an understanding, decent person. A person who isn't down to earth is one who has a wall built up, does not admit fault and thinks they are better than anybody.

It means you're grounded or practical, and very in touch with reality, as opposed to being delusional and a bit "out there" or out of touch with reality.

Not quite sure, but I always took it to mean practical, real, not pretentious or arrogant, truthful. Definitely a compliment.

People friendly. Not a snob. You stay grounded regardless of your social status (i.e. wealth, beauty, etc). A nice person.
