Yes,
Alot of people force things down people's throats.
And I think thats wrong too.
I think Christians should just more HELP them to believe not FORCE them.
But its because alot of people nowdays,
Just SAY/LABEL themselves as Christians,
But they truly aren't.
(but i'm not saying i'm a GREAT Christian either, I still struggle in that too.)

I take it as something bad because it is. It infringes on my rights to peace and enjoyment of life. A person with a megaphone at a public gathering shouting people down is a nuissance. A person yelling in a subway car distracts me from my reading.
Were these Christians calm, and answering questions when asked, rather than shouting and disturbing people, I might listen more.
Now, they do the same thing here. They preset apparent questions, but post a sermon behind them. I don't wish to waste my time being baited here. If someone has a legitimate question, then fine. If not, don't post. The same rule goes in public. If you've got someone interested in what you have, by all means; talk to them. If a booth is allowed at a public fair, put one up; talk to the people who visit. Just don't go around yelling and screaming and disturbing people. Rudeness doesn't attract anybody; anywhere, except for the people who are insulted or angered to the point of wishing to take action.

I am a Christian and I go to a Baptist Chrurch. I am the real deal Right Bible believing Christian. Right now I am setting in an office with 3 Catholics, 1 Mormon and 1 man that is simply non-religious (but doesn't claim to be athiest). They know I am a Christian and they respect that. Why is that? I do not ever tell them they are wrong for being Mormon, Catholic or non-religious. I also have my reasons for not believing in Catholicism, Mormonism, or a non-faith view, but I never let my co-workers know this. I instead ask them kind questions about your faith? What exactly are these so called evil things us Christians are doing to other people?

I like what dze said about being a living example but I disagree about the point that we are not supposed to share what is in the Bible. I believe some people are supposed to share with others and some people live by example. I try to do both. I give my co-workers encouragement from the Bible, but only if I feel they will be receptive to it. If I know that a person does not profess to have faith in the God that I serve, I do not talk in those terms. I merely encourage them in non-secular terms, such as "I've been thinking about you and am concerned about your problems." Most of the time though, I tell people that I am praying for them if I know they are going through a difficult life lesson.

True most Christians do present there message in a kind of harsh way, but the true and real lovers of God do so in love and tolerance. I have seen very few atheists and
non-believers that have jumped all over that question and answered saying, "stop trying to brain-wash us" or what not. It is time that we as Christians stop preaching the message of sin and burn forever, but the message of all sinners have a way out of burning forever through a loving God.

Non Christians wouldn't have to "over react" if Christians themselves would kindly take a hint that everyone single one is entitled to their beliefs and philosophy. It's how we live, Christianity is to live by a set of rules even though they are pick and choose and selected the way they want to interpret them.

It's the "letting me know what the bible says" that irritates me in the first place. How about live your own life. I know where all the churches are if I need one. Most people who don't follow a religion know more about the bible then you ever will.

The Bible says that "a gentle answer turns away wrath". We need to love and respect people and quit trying to force them into heaven. It does not work that way, God draws men to Himself, we as Christians can only speak the truth in love.

OH,
I do not look at Non-Christians as being the "Enemy". I suggest that other Christians attempt to do the same. I look at them as not following GOD but that does NOT make them an enemy at all. In fact, there are some of them who will become Christians and some who never will but Christ never treated anyone as an enemy to my recollection. Do you remember of a time when HE did?
Thanks,
Eds

letting us know what the bible says is basically shoving it down our throats. many of us have already read the bible. we dont really overreact we just dont want to put up with it. and now you call us the enemy just because we dont believe the same things as you. and is shoving religion down peoples throats "accepting our ways" because we dont do that.
