"But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
That seems simple enough. And wouldn't you expect Jesus to love his enemies?
Yes...?
What we find in Mark 16:15-16 is surprising. It shows us how Jesus treats his enemies:
He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned [to hell].
This is "good" news? Jesus doesn't love his enemies at all. In fact, you don't even need to be an enemy -- even those who would rather not "believe in" Jesus are condemned to eternal torture in a lake of fire????

I love how you all make excuses and try so hard to rationalize such a simple obviouse hypocritical statement. Do as I say not as I do from Jesus- Interesting.

Hm...I have to tell you that I see where you're coming from. That sounds very hypocritical, and I'm not just sucking up.
So that is true that he said he condemns the people who don't believe and don't get baptized to hell. But just a question of thought is: Where did Jesus say that they were his enemies? What I just said probably sounds really stupid and dull. But, if you and I disagree with something, does that make us enemies? I, personally, don't think so.
What everyone has to remember about the Bible is that it was written in the days that were fire and brimstone. The days where if you eat two pieces of cake, a priest will say that you are going to hell. Okay, that is a bit of an overexageration, sorry about that.
I hope this answer helps a little bit.

This quote: ""But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you."

Actually was lifted by the Church from the old Sumerian religion. Tablets in cuneiform have been found that say the very same thing, these are the words of UTU, the head god of the Universe according to old Sumerian religion:

"To your opponent, do no evil.
Your evildoer, recompense with good.
To your enemy, let justice be done,
Do not let your heart be induced to do evil,
To the one begging for alms,
Give food to eat, give wine to drink,
Be helpful, do good."

This was uncovered on a tablet from Sippar, which was the main city dedicated to UTU in ancient Sumer.

Jesus didn't say it, or if he did (I don't believe he existed), then he copied it from another religion and claimed it (wrongly) as his own - or at least the Church wrongly claims that.

The whole world is under condemnation.
The "Good News" is that Jesus loves the whole world enough to give us all an equal chance to escape Eternal wrath.

Since when is "loving" the same as being a doormat?

Jesus died for the sins of those who hated him. You cannot get any more loving than that. It is not Jesus' fault if you reject God's offer of amnesty for sin, and you decide that you would rather pay for your sins yourself by spending an eternity in Hell.

Why does God have to forgive people who have no remorse anyway, and force them into a Heaven that they would hate, and would have to live forever with a God that they didn't like? An unregenerate sinner would be unable to be happy anywhere. He would become his own private Hell.

My reference Bible says,

The most reliable early manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20.

The good news is that God showed his mercy in sending Jesus to bridge the gulf between him and us. The wages of sin is death. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross for you...and you say that's not love?

The truth in the Bible is worn out from the mishandling of men. (the writers) and interpreters, and teachers (pastors). Read Jeremiah 8:8 How do ye say We are wise and the law of the Lord is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he (man) it; the pen of the scribes (writers) is in vain. ( untruth ). Hell is an untruth!

That is their choice....you are either hot or cold, saved or lost, one can not sit on the fence...you are either with us or against us. Jesus does not want that any should be lost.....and whoever chooses not to believe have chosen to be lost...

Eternal torture in lake of fire??? Where do you get that?? the condemned are burned up and gone...poof...

Well loving your enemy doesn't mean God can give them all the blessings that those who believe get.
