If NO: Why did these things exist at all?

IF your answer is "Free Will", why was "Free Will" designed so that it would destroy other people AGAINST their free will?

If YES; then he obviously is not a loving god.

Thanks in advance for answers.

this is easy: GOD DOESNT EXIST. all negative events are a combination of human deeds and natural/worldy forces. humans beings are responsible for what we do to the earth. don't blame god for anything.

and using the bible as proof that it was god's will is nonsense b/c the bible was written by mere men, just as the koran was. nothing sacred about either book, just religious propaganda.

goodnight and goodluck.

You forget their is an accuser. He is the one who revels in human misery.
The term "free will" bugs me. At least the way it is currently being used. All it means is that we are allowed to choose to follow God or not, it does not mean everyone is guaranteed to do what they want. Evil exists as a RESULT of free will. Our choice to rebel and disobey gave evil a foothold.
God gives Satan a certain amount of control over what goes on here(Story of Job), after all, we chose that side in the conflict.
Jesus gave us an out...if we want it. We don't have to pay for our sins anymore, the punishment has been taken. But we are still in a fallen world. Bad things still happen and will continue to happen until Jesus returns.
Satan likes to point his finger at God for making bad things happen, but Satan is the one who is behind it. God is simply allowing sin to blossom to full maturity as an eternal reminder of the consequences of evil.
God knows the hairs on our head, he knows when a little sparrow falls. Think how much He is pained when any one of His creation dies.
How could a loving God watch as His Son died an agonizing death on a cross? We have sinned. He did not. That doesn't seem fair.
One day, all evil will be destroyed. No more sorrow, no tears, no death. God will be shown to be righteous and good and that Satan's lies hold no water. Already He has revealed His unfailing love for us by the life of Jesus. God is love? Yes indeed.

is there an honest answer we can give that would make you happy?if you have to ask, you'll never know. God doesn't cause those things. People cause those things.

Your parents made you. It doesn't mean they caused all the hardships in your life and that they don't care about. What about all the nice things in life? Ice cream, beer, music, flowers, sweet smelling things. If you want to focus on the negative, you're going to have a very unfulfilling life. The world is full of good and bad, because nature is both, kind and cruel at the same time. Don't blame your problems on God, he's too busy to be f*cking up your life on purpose. The decisions you make are YOURS alone and if you choose to submit yourself to bad situation, that's your own d*mn fault.

God has ordered His choosen people in the past to destroy the unfaithful. He has destroyed the unfaithful with disease and plagues and storms in the past. I'm sure He has been doing throughout time. He blesses the faithful and punishes the unfaithful. Been doing that for thousands of years, why should He have stopped after He sent His Son? Son redeemed our souls, allowed us to be saved from our sins. But millions still choose not to believe and God will still punish. It's in the Book of Revelations. Jesus told us about His Father's plan of salvation.

So, God has caused some of the things in history. We just don't know exactly which ones. Some people have their thoughts about it and other disagree. Like about 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina, for example. You can ask Him when you meet Him in the final days.

Peace!

No. I'm sure you would like to ascribe it to Him, though. This world is Satan's domain. It has been enslaved to him since the fall of man, and stays that way because of man's rebellion against God, and because of the evil that mens' hearts are always on continually. Man hates holy things, godly things, and God in particular, because they know He will shed light on their evil ways and hearts.

Give the devil his due. The evil in this world belongs to him. It will not change until God comes back to destroy Satan.

It is your opinion that God is not loving when he does these things; you are presupposing to know God's motives for allowing evil to exist. A rather arrogant statement; God might have a perfectly good explanation.

But I think that it is quite clear that everything either directly or indirectly comes from God

======================
Job 2 (NIV)
6 The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life."

7 So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. 8 Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and scraped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.

9 His wife said to him, "Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!"

10 He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?"
In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.

Job 38 (NIV)
1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the storm. He said:
2 "Who is this that darkens my counsel
with words without knowledge?

3 Brace yourself like a man;
I will question you,
and you shall answer me.

4 "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?
Tell me, if you understand.

5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?

6 On what were its footings set,
or who laid its cornerstone-

7 while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels shouted for joy?

8 "Who shut up the sea behind doors
when it burst forth from the womb,

9 when I made the clouds its garment
and wrapped it in thick darkness,

10 when I fixed limits for it
and set its doors and bars in place,

11 when I said, 'This far you may come and no farther;
here is where your proud waves halt'?

12 "Have you ever given orders to the morning,
or shown the dawn its place,

13 that it might take the earth by the edges
and shake the wicked out of it?

14 The earth takes shape like clay under a seal;
its features stand out like those of a garment.

15 The wicked are denied their light,
and their upraised arm is broken.

16 "Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea
or walked in the recesses of the deep?

17 Have the gates of death been shown to you?
Have you seen the gates of the shadow of death ?

18 Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth?
Tell me, if you know all this.

19 "What is the way to the abode of light?
And where does darkness reside?

20 Can you take them to their places?
Do you know the paths to their dwellings?

21 Surely you know, for you were already born!
You have lived so many years!

Bad things happen because of random events, natural causes, Murphy's Law and other physical explanations. To resort to resort to the supernatural explanation is not rational.

oh, so god NOT giving his children free will would make him a loving god? so you're saying you would RATHER not to have free will? I believe that if we were righteous then none of those things would happen, or we would be able to get through them easier. All the wars, poverty, etc is because people use their free will to MAKE THE WRONG DECISION. Many of this world's problems could be solved if people use their free will to MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS. This goes especially for people in leadership positions like bush, or just leaders of contries who screw their whole country because they USE THEIR FREE WILL WRONG. Make sense? Did i spell that out clearly enough for you?

I'd also like to add, that if god were to interfere with all those things, wouldnt he be contradicting himself by interfering with people's free will, that HE gave them in the first place? If not that, then he would be allowing people to use their free will wrong, then not have to deal with the consequences of their own decisions. We ARE his children, but he has to let us fall to lear how to pick ourselves up again...we have to learn to deal with our own problems, and to deal with the consequences to our own wrong decisions.
