I want you to find an index card and a pen... Done?
Okay, now on that card write the following: There is a reason I am not a government adviser.
Done?
Okay, now fold that card up, and put it in you pocket. Every time you get another bright idea like this, pull out the card and read what it says.

I think the question should have been 'why did' not 'why dont'. However, that aside, you raise a valid point. Iraq & Afghanistan are both becoming unwinnable wars and with the new condemnation of Iran look to widen at the cost of how many more lives?
The Coalition Governments are slowly beginning to realise this. If there is a change of government in Australia our troops will be withdrawn not before time. Who knows what the new British PM will decide?
Terrorism is not confined to one country but rather it lurks as hatred in the minds of people who believe they are victims of some injustice. Today's terrorists were born when Israel came into being in 1948 and as the USA supports Israel it is also a target as is Britain and Australia.
Bring the troops home. Let Iraq & Afghanistan determine their own future and let us protect our own shores and people.

What's your question?? The original one is 'why don't President Bush let our people go overseas'---no one said or is preventing "our people" from going overseas. You can go wherever you want. It's not recommended for some areas--like the Middle East--but Europe is definately open-season.
If you go to the Middle East---it's at your own risk and peril. Don't call the Embassy when you're kidnapped, they won't help you. ;)

Dear Marie, I think it seems the decapitation has left you unable to ask cohesive questions. Perhaps you are thinking in French and not translating your thoughts into to understandable Engreeesh.

I think that will never happen. There has already been too much invested in the situation in Iraq we are there for the long haul.

oh great idea, you do know that they are sworn to kill as many Americans and non muslims as possible right? So if we leave there and quit chasing them down then they just come over here again and attack us on our soil. great thinking.

As one of the soldiers that have been there, I'd rather go back and take my chances with my own life rather than wait for another attack here and take the chances with my family's lives.

And as long as there are US soldiers kicking iraqi *** and all those dirty arab bastards are getting blown to bits i'm happy.
