Lets see...is the rapture where god is gonna vaccume up all the good folks, and leave every one else to there own devices..?
Is that the religous hype trip again these days..?
When i was young those concepts of god and how he was thought to be such a vengeful tyrant scared me too.
I just threw all the religon out of my God equasions, and thought about what He means to me, and decided i didnt have any need of a god that was biosed, predudiced, or bigotted..and realized i didnt believe in RELIGON...god was real enough, it was religon that was my problem.
I assure you god dont have no vaccume ...he aint gonna sort through the worlds population huntin up 144 thousand humans...and he could care less if i think i am a jew, a muslem or a cathlic.
god ""IS"" life. Life is God. Liveing is god in existance. Existance dosent depend on God..God IS existance.
..YOU are chooseing to know god in some twisted religous ideology...so who knows what the hell your fears are going to be doing with your emagination..
If you are serious about haveing a relationship with God.. it begins with an understanding of GOD AS ""YOU"" understand him.... not an understanding as someone else does.
But what the hell do do I know... all humanity seems religously insain these days..and its imposible to decide wich one of the lot is the most pathetic.

What's to get paranoid about? You're either taken up into the heavens to meet Jesus or you're not. If you're taken up, fear of heights should be the last thing you'd be thinking about. If you'd don't expect to be taken up, now's the chance to get right with God. If you're left behind, you can still get to heaven, you'll just go through a lot of hell on earth and maybe even die a martyr. That pretty much sums it up.

Try to get my friend to counseling. I'd tell them, "There's no need to worry because it can't be changed." I guess I'd just be really supportive, remind them they're being 'silly' (silly makes it seem unimportant but I haven't a better word at the moment), and ask them to go to a therapist to help ease their mind. This is definitely unhealthy.

Well hiding from him for two or three days is out of the question as that would be counter productive.

Seriously...If he knows Jesus as His savior,I would simply review comforting scriptures with him..that he has nothing to fear...also I would encourage him to seek God,personally as well as with other brothers and sisters in the Lord, for peace.
He needs fellowship with other saints,to aid in equipping him with his faith and trust in God's goodness....

If he does not have a personal relationship with the Lord....Speak with him as God opens up opportunities to do so. (Pray for Him,often, including the laying on of hands,by other members of the body of Christ). If neither of you know Jesus, personally as Savior...I would be scared too.

I think I'd call the local psychiatric hospital and have them put in on a mandatory 24-hour hold for observation because they are a danger to themselves and others.

Tell him to not worry. Christ himself told us to not worry. We just need to let everyone know the good news of Christ and then we are all responsible for making our own choice. Believe - or not.

Pray with him. Evidently he is under conviction. If you're saved you have nothing to worry about.
