The opening scene was the family driving in a station wagon and all of a sudden the ground breaks open and the car seems to be eaten by the ground and after driving through a tunnel they pop out in a myserious world where there are dinosaurs and i cant remember what the name of the show was

Well if it were a stationwagon then nobody would remember the show but it it were a boat with a family (Dad, Son, and Daughter) going down a river and an earthquake opened up a big rock or mountain and they went shooting through the opening into "The Land Of The Lost".

Sounds like Land of the Lost. Did it have Sleestacks and a mini Bigfoot? There was another opening scene with the family going over a waterfall...

There was a cartoon called "The land that time forgot" and there was a real life one called "The land of the lost."
I don't recall a station wagon in either of those opening scenes though.

that was Land of the Lost. that was a really good show that didnt last long enough.
