What if it happens in 129 years

The bible clearly states that no one knows the hour of Jesus' return. It also says a good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children. That's two generations worth. And the bible says that God wants us to prosper. I see no contradictions here. The end will come. I personally believe it will happen in this generation. But I'm still putting away a nest egg. What's really important between now and the end is not whether I save money or not. but whether I'm trusting in Jesus for my salvation. I do and I could care less when the apocalypse comes because I ain't gonna be here to experience it. Woe to those who do stick around by their own foolish choice. It ain't gonna be pretty.

Retirement fund is for our old age. Apocalypse can happened anytime, could happened 60 years later or 40 years or could be anytime.

Taking first step ahead or just in case is no harm.

Only God knows the hour of the end of the world, so it makes sense to prepare to live comfortably into ones old age. Believing in God doesn't mean you don't plan for your future.

Because no one will know the hour of Christ's return save God the Father; best to be prepared for His return to be after retirement. :)

Because it says in scripture that no one will know the hour of his return. Therefore, why pretend you know that it will be coming within our lifetimes?

I was just wondering, are these answers going to change your views?

Because I have no reason to believe it must occur before my retirement.

I don't. I'm 100% hand-to-mouth and I intend to work until I drop dead at the Altar during Mass...or when Jesus comes back. Whichever comes first.

BTW - you are misusing the term - "Apocalypse" simply means "Revelation". Perhaps you meant "Armegddon" or "Rapture".

Uh guys? I think if christ was going to save us he would have done it by now...

its sad to see people pledge their lives to a futile cause....

if you can see it (global warming) you dont believe it

If you cant see it (Religion) you take your chances and pledge you rlife to it
