Around the time we began to keep accurate/reliable records, God stopped showing up...Perhaps he's camera-shy?

God, or the ultimate being, is still interacting with humans....
Anytime you listen to your intuition and not your ego, you are living in accordance with creations instruction. People need scriptures to relate to because this is a powerful concept. Sometimes they write down people's conversations with god in a way people can understand. Maybe they are more symbolic or metaphorical then strait up the reality. These ancient texts are viewed in a very shallow, theoretical context. Until people practice what is in them (not what is taught in church, mosques, etc), they really have no room to speak.

What makes you think He hasn't been heard from? Just because you willfully refuse to listen?
"...and others who have delusions of gandeur", I'd like to see your evidence of your diagnosis doctor.
Is everyone who disasgrees with you delusional? That's what the Soviets thought. They put political dissidents in mental hospitals (really prisons), thinking they must be insane not to want communism.

just because He has not "shown up" does not meant that He does not exist. He lives in us and around us. there are miracles that happen every day to every body arounds us. the neighbor down the road that was in a terrible car crash and was not killed, the uncle who fought cancer and lives to tell the story. every day stuff happens that God has a part in, and He will always be there for each and every one of us. hope you figure it out for yourself, have a good day.
