It's a thermal blanket; it's metalized plastic fabric.
This was invented by NASA for the moon lander.
You can buy them in sporting goods stores.
Look under camping & hiking supplies.
Also good to keep in your car for emergencies.

At the Chicago Marathon, they called them mylar blankets. Supposedly mylar is a very good insulator, but it tears very easily, so I don't think it kept me that warm. I guess you could check out a sporting goods store (probably a local one is best where they actual know what they are doing). If it doesn't have any mylar blankets, you could always ask if they know where to get some.

Actually you're all WRONG, the silver material is made up of fibres initially found only in the deepest darkest craters of the moon. However these are now readily available in most good sporting shops as their properties allow them to insulate bodies well, and make you look super cool. They are called aluminium thermal blankets and can currently be found with a hefty price tag of $1,000000000000000 in hollywood, as they have become popular with celebs like david cassidy and also runners.

mylar it's a very good insulator. keeps warm air in and cold air out and vise verse . they also make ballons out of it. you can find it at most hardware stores
