I was wondering how do you completely clean your hard drive if you don't have the Windows XP disk. My computer is running slow because I have downloaded so much stuff on it and I just want to start fresh.

You can always reformat your hard drive, which completely cleans off the drive. However; You are going to need an operating system of some sort. So some bucks are going to have to be spent with this system.
Question? Are you running Norton anti-virus? This particular software runs continually and really slows your computer. Remove it with the "add/remove" button in your control panel. Install Free AVG or one of the other security programs on the net. I like AVG myself. Also use your system tools to clean up your computer.
Check with Lava Soft on the net and get AD-Aware SE its a Free program that will get rid of the spy's that are looking at your computer and might be part of your slowing problem.
Try these first. Hey, no costs involved. If that doesn't work its reformat and spend the money. Good luck.

you will no longer have the skill to try this from abode windows (utilizing abode windows to format the rigidity abode windows is working on, that's loopy). in simple terms insert a bootable working equipment placing up disc (a abode windows or Linux one will do), reboot and stick to the classes for doing an entire format. inspite of how tempting it would desire to be, do no longer p.c.. the quick selection (which finishes in actually in basic terms some seconds) as all it does is tell your rigidity it relatively is empty. relatively, the quick format does not erase something. in case you should make confident the rigidity is thoroughly sparkling and formatted, then you somewhat might desire to accomplish an entire format. Even after an entire format, some information restoration professionals can nonetheless retrieve info off the stressful rigidity. the only thank you to ascertain everlasting information loss is to apply a great-magnet.
