I believe that the central truth to the new testament is that God is a living God, and he has lived amongst us. I believe it is relevant to modern times because it tells us to look for God in everyone and everything. I believe that the testaments are related because the Old Testament lays down the history of Jesus' people, tells us basic rules of our faith, and prophesies the coming of Jesus.

The central truth of the New Testament is that Jesus Christ, co-equal with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit, came to earth in a human body.....and gave His very life to redeem us to God. Jesus paid our sin debt. His resurrection proved He was the true Son of God, and if we believe in Him, and follow Him, our bodies will also be resurrected...and we will live forever with Him in a state of bliss. GOOD NEWS.
Of course the N.T. is relevant..........it will never be anything but relevant! The one stable thing in this world is the unchangeable nature of God, and of His Word!! This is such a steadying blessing to us when the world seems so upside down.
The Old Testament has many types and shadows which are fulfilled in the New Testament. Jesus often quoted from the Old Testament. The two testaments fit together like hand in glove !!Blessings to you !!

The way, the truth and the life...
It teaches us that grace can and does set us free. That we are called to walk in the purpose of love. The hope of our calling, and the fulfillment of the plan laid out for us.
It is relevant, timeless, and integral to our lives, and eternal life.
It is related, and relevant to the old testament, as it fulfills it. It balances it. It shows us a timeless God, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and the prophecy of Jesus Christ. He is mentioned in every book of the Old Testament.

The central truth? It is a physics lesson.
Reality is mirroring the content of our mind. We live by faith or experience only what we believe to be true. Miracles are possible because we all can transcend our little learned identity and experience rebirth/resurrection. Remembering our authentic (Christ - meaning anointed one) nature leads to perfect empowerment and eternal 'aliveness' because reality sychronizes with that state of mind. Every story of Jesus' life (from "water into wine" to "gathering in the upper room" to "entombment", etc.) is a psychological metaphor describing a stage of the path/way he taught to achieve heaven, through purification and ego death.
The O. T. describes the same process in different ways as do all the great religious traditions.
Most people don't have a clue.

The truth of the Bible is the same from Genesis to Revelations, just a few samples:
Genesis 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. (Hmmm, this pre-existed Siani!)
Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
Eccleseastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
1Corinthians 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.
John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
1John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Romans 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Revelations 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Food for thought; the message of God is consistent in both the new and old testaments. Read these two verses in context using Hebrews 3 & 4:
Hebrews 4:1 Let us then, though we still have God’s word that we may come into his rest, go in fear that some of you may be unable to do so.
2 And, truly, the good news came to us, even as it did to them; but the hearing of the word did them no good, because they were not united in faith with the true hearers.
Again: Romans 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

The central truth is that we are saved, the whole world is.
It teaches to love, first and foremost GOD then your neighbour as you yourself would want to be loved. It is as relevant now as it ever was. It is completely related to the Old Testament as the Christ is a Jewish Rabbi, He would have taught by the Old Testament in His ministry. Remember He came for the chosen ones first, so He would have used the 'Torah' as a guide for the Jews of two thousand years ago.

The central truth of the OT is that man is a sinner and that God will bring a Savior. That's why so much of the OT is filled with prophecy--prophecy about the coming Messiah.
The NT complements the OT because it talks about the Messiah that was promised in the OT--Jesus Christ. The central truth of the NT is that the Messiah has come at last.

The only thing that will matter in eternity is whether you accepted Jesus as your Savior.
Luke:16:19-31

Matt 24-25
Job 19
1 & 2 Thes
Yes,where a person spends eternity is relavent
The OT shows the need for the NT.It also has prophetic verses about Jesus and the NT.

The birth, death and resurrection of Christ are the central truths of the New Testament -and it was also the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophesies - especially those of Isaiah. The teachings of Christ - about how to treat one another, how salvation works, how the church should work, how we should live are also very important themes throughout the New Testament.
The Old Testament is a wonderful book of the history of Israel and of the beginnings of mankind and it's life-lessons are very valuable. There is much to be learned from this old tome - but the New Testament addresses the Messiah and our relationship to God as followers of Christ. Both are useful for learning how to have peace and comfort; and how to be at one with God, at peace with others and with ourselves. It tells us about forgiveness, shows us how to forgive and promises God's forgiveness to us.
The Bible, all of it, is my life-line.
God Bless.

The new testament is all about GOD redeeming a lost and dieing world by coming in the flesh as the promised messiah and paying the price to atone for the sin of Adam by dieing on a cross and rising from the dead so that now we have the option of dieing with Christ and rising from the dead into life everlasting.
