Walk, run, swim, play basketball/baseball/soccer etc., bike ride, do stretches and sit ups. Eat a diet high in protein (eggs, lean chicken, etc.) and lay off the junk food but don't ban it completely. If you cut out all of the junk food you like, or other foods you like, you may be likely to binge. Also eat high fiber foods: whole wheat bread instead of white, wheat pasta, brown rice, cereals with less sugar like wheat chex, wheaties, etc. Also, you can eat sweet potatoes instead of regular.
A good, filling breakfast is eggs or egg whites with wheat toast and fruit. Then eat some fruit for a snack before lunch. At lunch have chicken and veggies or rice or pasta. Have some fruit and a high fiber granola bar (like Cliff bars, just be sure to watch the sugar in them. Over 7gs of sugar is kind of high) or crackers for an afternoon snack. For dinner make sure to have protein and lots of veggies. If you're still hungry have some dessert: low fat pudding, sugar free jell-o, fruit, etc. Cut down on the soda or switch to diet. Drink homemade iced tea or unsweetened. Drink lots of water. Drink skim milk and use margarine instead of butter.
Finally, watch your portion sizes. Since you're a 15 year old male your metabolism is probably pretty high so it shouldn't take you long at all to lose 20lbs.
Good Luck!

Work on your eating habits. Work on your exercise habits. Focus on making positive changes for your life rather than on a specific weight loss by a specific date. You will be able to make significant progress toward your goal in two months. You might not lose 20 pounds, but you will be able to see changes. Then keep up the healthy changes, not for two or six months, but permanently. That's how to be more healthy.
Start with a healthy diet and an aerobic exercise program. You can do this at a gym, or with home excercise equipment, or a local track, or just your own two legs. Walking is a pretty universally good exercise that requires little equipment (a comfortable pair of shoes is important) and you can do it pretty much any time and any place. Do your exercising five to seven days a week.
Skip all the high calorie, fatty, and sugary snacks (you know which those are, don't you?). Be sure to eat three meals a day, but eat when you are hungry and stop when you are no longer hungry. Eating a small amount and then waiting a quarter hour to see if you are still hungry will help you identify when you have eaten enough. Make sure that your meals are full of low calorie, low fat, low sugar and low salt, but high nutrient foods. So skip fried chicken or fish but eat grilled skinless chicken and fish, eat steamed vegetables, and eat whole grain foods. Skip the processed baked goods.

Mike,
Are you sure?
1. Drink 8 glasses of 8 oz. of water a day, without fail. More if you need it.
2. Take a multi-vitamin with breakfast or dinner.
3. Eat breakfast every day. It jumpstarts your metabolism.
4. Don't skip meals. Eat 3 normal meals and two snacks in between.
5. Drop soda or anything else that says high fructose corn syrup on it in the first five ingredients.
6. Eat high nutrition, low calorie foods like vegetables (fresh or frozen), lean meats (palm-sized amounts), fruits, and skim milk. Eat less carbs like pasta, packaged foods, potatoes, etc.
Weight loss is more energy used than taken in, so burn up some energy. Walking, running, biking, tennis, weights, skating, blading, crunches, push ups, sit ups, swimming, etc. all count, just do it 30 minutes a day (or twice a day or more) every single day.
The FDA puts out a great plan for free--check it out. It is not a diet, but a life plan. I gave you the basics.
You will be in great shape, feel good and look good. Go for it.

cut out all salt, sause, and extras. Get fresh fruits and yogert
and/or original oatmeal or cream o wheat. (no butter or syrup). Lunch wheat sandwich - oven turkey or chicken (no bbq or hickory ect) dark green lettuce or sprouts, tomatoes, cucumber, and if you must have cheese make it provolone or Swiss and only a little. A touch of mustard is OK too. For dinner - keep it light a salad either no dressing or the salad spritzers. You can have a mixed leaf salad, onions and peppers, no salt nuts to flavor the salad. Drink lots of water throughout the day. Little to no juice and limit milk. Stick with fresh fruit and veggies, avoid snack and cut out fats, salts and extras. Plus get a 30 min a day exercise routine. Make 5 min warm up, stretches, 15 cardio, 5 min crunches and/or pushups (can alter each day) then 5 min cool down. Good luck and I wish you all the best in High School
