I wish the answer was us, but sadly it's not.
You should replace Soda with water. Sweet Tea, or any tea for that matter, is very high in sugar, caffeine and other nasty little things that like to make your body slow down.

It depends on how much sugar. Look at the carbs in the soda you are drinking. 1 teaspoon of sugar adds 9 grams carbohydrate. If the sugar you add to your tea is less than the sugar in your soda, you are consuming fewer calories. Try Good Earth tea, or another tea that tastes sweet iced without sugar. Or green tea. If you use gradually less sugar, that's a good way to lose some weight.

No, sugar is sugar. There may be a bit less in the sweet tea, but most sweet tea's I've had are super sugary.

Why not replace with plain water? After a while you won't need that sugar fix and it will actually taste nasty to you.

It depends on how much sugar, how much tea, and how much soda. Figure out the calories on each alternative. If you are drinking less calories, you will lose a bit if all other things stay equal. If not, it will not help. Beter to try Splenda in your tea. It tastes just like sugar and has no significant calories.

anything is better than drinking soda. it has so much salt and yes sugar that you will be shocked at the amount of weight you will lose just giving it up. though i don't really recommend sweet tea either, it is a start. try your tea with splenda instead.

You are probably not going to add as much sugar to your tea as you get in soda so I think it would be a good move. Good thing about tea is also you can have tea with healthy benefits like tea that is good for your heart, and anti oxidants. Tea is good. Soda is not.
Besides, if you learn to enjoy tea more, you may add less and less sugar.

there is just as much sugar and just as many calories in sweet tea as in soda. so pick your posion: carbonated or uncarbonated any sweetened drink will keep you from losing weight.

You'll be getting the same sugar & caffeine!
Try unsweetened Green Tea, with lemon & honey.
Keep the honey to a minimum for drinkability.

there are approx. 8 Tablespoons of sugar in a soda, so if you put less in tea, then yes, this is better for you!
