I didn't know eating lobster was an OT abomination. Anyway, I give little or no credence to Bible verses. Lobster is delicious, and for those who don't like lobster, for any reason, that's just fine. More for me! However, if anything should be regarded as an abomination, homosexuality ought to be up there on the list.

The New Testament solves the riddles for you - take some time and read it - you will definitely learn something about being a follower of Christ (Christian) - it's about caring for each other, non-judgmental living and eating whatever is good for your body - including lobster. So He said to the Pharisees.
Be sweet.

well......we are to be followers of Jesus. What did Jesus do? He followed the commandments in the scriptures. There was no new testament at that time. That was how we knew that He was perfect and was the Messiah. He said "I did not come to abolish the Law, I came to fulfill it" He came to show us how to live it here on earth and to fufill what the prophets said about Him. Then he said "If you love Me you'll obey my commandments" The only commandments at that time were those of moses and the prophets. Now some of those laws are for for women, some for men, some for priests, some only when in Jerusalem and when there is a temple. However, keeping the feasts as best we can and treating others fairly, observing the Sabbath day (sunset friday to sunset saturday) and the dietary laws are still things that God wants you to do.They are for your own good. They are not required to "earn your salvation" But they are honoring to God. I try my best to be obedient to these things not to be "saved" but to honor God for saving me through the loving perfect sacrifice of Jesus/Yeshua my Lord. Sorry for the long answer but ..... No lobster for me, oh and buzzard, sea gulls, swine and dogs are also off the list. God bless you!

I thoroughly enjoy lobster. That obscure reference in the Old Testament is a nonpoint. Jesus said nothing made by God is unclean.

Not being a member of the Tribe of Levi, the contents of Leviticus don't apply to me. I can wear cotton-polyester blends, eat pork & shrimp (lobster is a bit pricey here in Kansas), and I don't have to kill animals on the alter or stone children to death.
Leviticus means "for the Levites".

If you are not Jewish you do not have to keep kosher.
The 613 laws associated with the OT are only for Jews.
The rest of humanity has to follow the seven laws of Noah:
1. Prohibition of Idolatry: - There is only one God. You shall not make for yourself an idol.
2. Prohibition of Murder: - You shall not murder.
3. Prohibition of Theft: - You shall not steal.
4. Prohibition of Sexual Promiscuity: - You shall not commit adultery.
5. Prohibition of Blasphemy: - Revere God and do not blaspheme.
6. Prohibition of Cruelty to Animals: - Do not eat the flesh of a living animal.
7. Requirement to have just Laws: - You shall set up an effective government to police the preceding six laws.
See? No mention of kosher laws whatsoever!

LOL the list of abominations is hysterical. Especially when used to counter Dr. Laura's ridiculous advice.

You do not have to concern yourself with the dietary laws in the old testament.
Peter did, and Paul had to correct him to his face . . . you are doing the same mistake as the 'Judaizers' of the New Testament Church
