I have a large walk-in closet completely lined with cedar and with cedar shelves for sweaters and all the way up one wall for all my shoes and boots. It was one of the reasons I bought this house (the previous owners had installed the cedar).

It is just plain great! It keeps all of my clothes smelling fresh and free of moths. I have many wool and cashmere sweaters and scarves and have not had one moth hole in them in the 3 years since I have had this closet. I can't think of any down sides at all. You will love it and it will add value to your home.

i don't have a cedar closet but I do have cedar in my "CEDAR CHEST or HOPE CHEST"... & u jst take lt sand paper to it every now & then & it keeps the closets well & free from moths. I have clothes & items in my chest that haven't been worn or touched for years & they r still in the best of shape.

My gramma had one. I have one of her quilts that was kept in there and i swear sometimes i still catch whiffs of cedar. After 20 or so years! Results may vary by quality of cedar, i dont know, but the one she had really really worked! love cedar! :)
