mstng what happened so you realised there was a problem with said dog ?
this dog is due heat-- not had puppies

No, but if an intact ***** gets older without having a litter her uterus can rot inside her....calling for immediate surgery. My moms dog went through that. Hope this helps.

No, but any sudden change in a dogs behaviour can be a sign of significant health problems.

I assume she's intact if you're asking about menopause, so my first concern would be pyometria, especially if it's a few weeks to a month after her most recent heat.

Your friend should get her checked out by a vet - it may be nothing but it's better to pay for a check up now than an autopsy later

I think my dog has gone through the change.She is a 14 year old collie and up until two years ago bled when she was on heat and had lots of unwanted male dogs sniffing round or garden to get to her.Then last summer and this summer she hasnt bled and hasnt had any male suitors around so i think its possible that they do go through the menopause.
