I cant seem to find either model at any local gun stores and I'm curious as to what the average retail price on either of these 2 models.

Go to: www.budsgunshop.com

Select the "handgun" option

Find the Taurus icon on the handgun page and select it.

Select the Taurus revolver option.

This will give you a list of all the Taurus revolvers this seller has. The first two numbers of the product code are the model numbers.

The price varies from about $270 to about $330 for the two models.

A question within a question does not deserve an answer but here I go anyway! Is the Model 65 or 66 anything like the 605? I have the Taurus 605 in .357 with Pachmyr grips and it gives me a woody everytime I shoot it. I have had that gun for 13 years now and love it dearly. They still sell for somewhere in the low 300's.

I know its not answer but hope it helps.

I've looked in gunbroker and the used taurus model 66s seem to go for about $200.

Google Taurus, then go to Taurus webpage and prices. I bought a slightly used 66 for 200 frogskins and love it dearly.

If those are my only two choices, I'd have to select the 66. Since you are already aware that the .357 is marginal for hunting, I would suggest that you load it with 170 grain + lead semi-wad cutters with a gas check and push them as fast as you can.
