Must have been said when the comet was around and on everyone's mind. Did you know Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) was born the year of Halley's comet and died the year it came around again?

I don't know the phrase since I'm not a native english speaker but I know Halley's comet. It only shows up every 76 years. So it's a rare event, meaning everyone would wanna see it.

About twenty years ago, Bill Cosby was doing some Jell-o commercials with some kids. The gag was they were trying to distract each other to steal their Jell-o, and this line, said by Cosby, was the last line of the commercial.
It was particularly funny if you realized that these kids probably had no idea what Halley's Comet was.

I've never heard of it but I know the Hayley's Comet is rare. I guess it would make the people look that way because it's a rare event.
