My pooch has an under-active thyroid. She has been on medication for almost 7 years for it, well, anytime the hair on her back starts thinning, It's a sure sign her thyroid levels have changed and her medication needs adjusted...my vet told me the thinning hair is one of the first signs of thyroid problems in dogs.
The Medrol could make her hair thin, lots of meds could, however, if she has only been on it 3 days, I'm not sure it could effect her coat THAT quickly.
I hope this helps and ur pooch will be ok.

Medrol is a steroid. One of the side effects is thinning of hair or even loss of hair. If she on it short term than I would not worry too much but long term than I would talk to your vet about this side effect your seeing.
NOTE: A hypoactive Thyroid will make a dogs hair thin, but it will also make you dog gain weight for no apparent reason too. If she is also gaining weight and have no explaination for it than please have her thyroid levels checked.

Go online and look up the drug and all of it's side effects. If your dog has been on this drug for some time it is a strong possiblilty.

It might be shedding, totally natural. My uncles dog looks like someone gave her a bad haircut when she sheds so relax. Its summer now so your dog is going to shed. If your still conserned then take it to the vet.
