About 5 - 10 minutes. That's why they use Nido or other dried milk.
By the way, cows do not do well in the tropics. Milk has to be imported (to such countries as the Philippines).
Of course, you can use canned milk, but the Nido (or Milupa in Germany) works best. Speaking of Germany, they have "Ultrahocherhist" (sp?) milk, which is super-pasteurized milk that keeps in a pasteboard container with no refrigeration. It comes in plain or chocolate.
