Okay, so we got our dog Pepper about eight or nine years ago through a bischon rescue. So we at least know he's a bischon but when they told us he's also part peekanise (have no idea how to spell that) we were pretty doubtful. Is there any way to find out for sure (just out of curiosity) what breeds our mutt is made up of?

I saw a report on Good Morning America about dog DNA testing. A lady had her mix breed dog tested out of curiosity.

She thought her dog was a was maybe a lab/white shepherd mix. It turned out that the dog was 25% lab and 25% doberman.
The other 50% was unknown.

I often wonder as to my own dog's parentage. Her dad must have been a travelin' man. Anyway, the dog DNA thing is catching on. It really could be useful to vets in treating inherited type illnesses to know the parentage.

Check out the GMA site and here is a site that explains it.

Well my dog is a complete and utter mutt. Her dad was a street dog and her mom was a domestic mutt. We've taken her to the vet and spent a lot of money on consultations with various breeders. Every time we hear the same exact thing- "We THINK she MAY be APART of this breed." Honestly it's not worth all that money to find out, so we gave up. You can try the same method but I doubt that you'll hear any different.

basically tell her returned and returned returned "you're a dogs. you're no longer a guinea pig." attempt bringing her to a dogs park so she will work together with different canines. My pal has a dogs, whilst he grew to become right into a domestic dog she carried him around each and all of the time and taken care of him like a baby. Now he would not understand what to do around different canines and is frightened of canines that are smalller than him. he's ridiculous!

As long as you have a pet that you love and the dog loves you, It doesn't matter what the mix. If it did not bother you when you rescued him it should not bother you now. Just know that you rescued a loving pet who deserves a loving home.
