*IF* the recipe is calling for ~volume~ in ounces and not ~weight~ in ounces, then some of the above are correct. HOWEVER, I susupect your recipe is calling for weight. And you cannot go back and forth between the two w/o knowing what a certain volume of an item weighs.

That would be 1/2 cup in liquid measure but on dry they sometimes call for it specifically by weight.
