Why is a rape baby worth less than a "regular" baby?

Fred . . . what's the right question then?

Oh good lord. Why do I have to keep saying this? My avatar is a picture of a male actor. I am female. All you have to do is look at my profile for a clue.

Is over population a concern for you? Is a parent who clearly cannot take care of a child and possibly physically, mentally, emotionally, or sexually damage a child a concern for you? Is a rape victim at the age of 10 a concern for you? Is a birth defect, which could result in the child dying anyway, and have longlasting effects on family a concern for you?

Did you ever think that maybe, just maybe, having an abortion isn't all that bad?

I don't think any baby is worth less than another. I was raped when I was younger. If I would have gotten pregnant I would have kept the baby. Rape is a horrible thing to live with why would you add the guilt with abortion. For those of you who say its not a baby. Have you seen what a baby looks like at 8 wks gestation? A BABY!! The heart is beating and brain waves are functioning it just has to grow bigger and fatter. I have been in an abortion clinic before(I personally have not had an abortion) What I heard and saw was very sad. Girls who were under sedation were screaming, girls who just came out of the procedure were sobbing and wondering why they just did what they did. Studies have shown that if a girl getting an abortion has an ultrasound performed and is given the chance to see the baby most likely they will change their mind.
As for unwanted babies and over population. How many people are waiting for a baby to adopt? Not only that but they are actually going to other countries to adopt because we have such long waiting lists here.

I do not think anyone has ever said that a rape baby is worth less. What I do feel is that if you can carry the baby to term and give it up. Some people just can not handle the stress of the rape and then having to carry the reminder around for nine months. I think that under the right circumstances then abortion is a correct answer. It is something the person who went through it should decide and not those of us who have our own thoughts on it. Always ask what would I do if it were me? Nine times ouot of ten I say you might do what someone else decided.

I don't believe in abortion at any time personally. It's not the baby's fault and doesn't mean that the baby will grow up to be an animal. But I can understand a rape victim wanting to terminate a pregnancy. The choice of becoming pregnant was not theirs to begin with and they should not be subjected to more force and emotional and physical trauma. That's very different than using abortion as a form of birth control, which is the case with most abortions.

God Bless.

A rape baby is not worth less than a regular baby. But, then at the time of abortion there is no baby just a foetus, so silly question.

I think that abortion should be allowed in any case up to a certain number of weeks, to be honest would you want to grow with a single mum who was forced to keep you and does not love you as she should?

All life is equally precious in God's eyes, and in my eyes. I am against abortion for any reason.

However...
This question about abortion/rape comes up all the time. But do you have any idea how small a number of abortions are done because of rape? I've seen estimates as low as 500 annually, and as high as 1% of the 1.3 million abortions committed annually. If the the abortion laws were abolished, except for cases of rape, think about how many innocent babies would be saved.

Did you know that globally, over 68,000 women die each year due to having had an abortion?

It's not. no baby is worth more or less then any other baby. Abortion is each individual's choice. Some people believe that abortion is alright in the case of rape because it was not the girls choice. She did not choose to have sex, she was forced. If the girl was raped, she shouldn't be expected to have to care for the baby. Girls that choose to have sex willingly, know what could happen as a result.

I believe that abortion is OK regardless, it's not my body or pregnancy.

I think that for the people who believe in abortion only in cases of rape are very concerned with not further victimizing or terrorizing the Woman when she did not consent. It's not necessarily that they view the fetus as being worth less but that since the Woman did not consent to the act that led to its creation, she is absolved of the responsibility of carrying it against her will.

Peace,
Jenn

Those that believe in giving cause to abortion should not quibble over any reason. If it inconveniences the woman in any way just murder the child and be done with it.

I believe abortion is wrong. Their is no good reason to abort the child. My wife and I discussed this before having children. We concluded that if we are to sacrifice for the children during their youth it should start at birth.

Now for rape. There would still be a part of my wife in the child. I love my wife and I would not see any part of her destroyed. Plus, what did the child do? Nothing. If you are going to abort some one abort the rapist!

I think it's ok in any case as long as the fetus is not viable. Of course a rape fetus is worth the same as any other, it's just a good example of why keeping the fetus isn't a good idea. Parents of rape children often end up hating their own children, who are a constant reminder of what happened. And no one should have to raise a child they didn't want and had no say in concieving. Not only raise, but carry in the first place - it often keeps you from doing what you want to do with your life.

Well first of all I think there isn't any sane person that would ever claim that abortion is OK under any circumstance. Nevertheless, we should also be able to understand the terrible situation of a woman that has been raped and gotten pregnant. And we also should be open to accept that maybe abortion is the least worst thing in this situation.
Anyway, whether if it is the least worst or not, we must try to understand and respect a woman who decides to abort under these circumstances and not try to condemn her nor to impose her our will .
