I'm taking my baby to get her 1 year pictures on Wednesday and they said I could bring my own props if I wanted to. What are some good ideas for her 1st birthday pictures? Everything they have is to blah...any ideas??

You could do something like a then and now shot... take in her 1st pair of shoes and her current size.. her coming home outfit... maybe put her hospital photo in the shot.

You could also do a 'favorite things' shot. If she has a fav toy, sippy whatever she thinks is a MUST have these days.

hi...you've gotten some great ideas already. My daughter's 1st birthday pics were taken with her favorite book and 1st little doll. The photographer placed her ring inside the open book and Gracie was pointing to it ...just like she would point to the pictures in the book. It is the sweetest thing and very nostalgic. We picked a book my mother often read to her, again...one of her favorites. My mom passed away shortly after my daughter's 1st birthday so it captured an extra special memory for us to cherish forever.

Best wishes~

One thing I wish I had done with my son was to get an annual picture of him by his daddy's dress shoes. He's 12 now and bigger than me, and I'm sure in a few more years he'll be the same size as daddy. In hindsight I would have loved to see how he walks in his daddy's footsteps from day one.
Maybe if you started a tradition with a ladies item of your own? Or buy a nice hat or scarf that you could use each year?

I would suggest that you take a cupcake. Save that for the end of the session. Take all of his clothes off except his diaper and let him have at the cupcake. It will make some cute pictures. My son will be 1 in a few weeks. How exciting!!

I took my daughter a cake for her first birthday. It was a tiny cake and I let her get all messy after she was done with her regular pics. We got some really cute ones of her all messy!!

if your baby has a special blanket or toy that would be good. maybe a wagon or something for baby to sit in (with overalls or a sundress) maybe a small cake for some messy fun shots (might want to bring something for her to sit on too)

Sears does a great shot called "birds eye view". They lay your child down and shoot from above her. It comes out beautiful.
