As I said in an earlier post, this really annoys me. How can you just pick and chose what you believe. It's all or nothing as far as I'm concerned

WORLD EMPIRES

Are the Empires of the world for real?

Was there an Egyptian world Empire in the days of Abraham to Moses to Solomon?
Was there an Assyrian world Empire in the days of Isaiah?
Was there a Babylon world Empire in the days of Daniel?
Was king Cyrus in World Empire #4, did it last 536 to 336 BCE?
How long did Greece world Empire #5 last beginning with Alexander the Great and did Daniel tell about it? Did Daniel say which world Empire that Christ Jesus the Messiah would be born and cut off in? Did Jesus come in Rome world Empire #6 and how long had it ruled over Judah/Jerusalem or the Promised Land area?
Did Daniel say when world Empire #7 would end and why? How many world Empires will be?
Which world Empire will be and for how long at the second coming of Jesus?
No one is given any thing but facts to base real existing knowledge on.
Philip.2:5,9-12; Take on the mind of Christ, he and all the inhabitants of heaven see the ages old earth prepared ages for habitation Job 38:4-7; Rev.5:11; that habitation is vast. Luke 20:34-36; Angels [ heavens inhabitants ] do not die.
2Tim.2:15; Rightly dividing the word of truth.
If the bible is not the word of truth, where is there any truth?

I think most of the bible is written in symbolism. You have to notice where or what is this story trying to say.
and a lot of it is slang. That we don't understand today.
Like when Jesus was dying on the stake next to the convict and he said, "I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise"
Acts 1: 3, 4 says that he didn't go back to heaven for 40 days and he was in the grave 3 days.
So it was , I tell you today, as a slang term.
Like we say , "You know!
when if they did know you wouldn't be tellling them.
But we use those expressions. Like a neetle in a hay stack.
He said , "like a rich man going through the eye of a nettle."
As an example of something difficult to do.
Or he has about as much chance as a snowball in hell.
How will they try to explain that 2000 years from now?
So it takes effort to really understand what the bible is saying.
Also, our language gap makes it hard to understand.
some people said until I read the bible in several different languages I didn't understand what it was trying to say.
If we are limited to just one language and your using a king james version that was written hundreds of years ago.
It is difficult, we should all learn to speak Hebrew and Greek I guess and them learn all their slang.

There are hundreds of books out there that show (very specifically) which parts of the bible are actual and which parts are not. The Vatican library goes back almost 2000 years, I am sure within that time there has been many scholars that has examined the writings and have sorted out the realities from the parables.

The bible comes from Hebrew and Greek sources.

In Protestant Christianity, the bible is the sole authority and must interpret itself.

You just need to keep track of what it is saying, not whether it is literal.

The Vatican continues its apostasy, unfortunately. The truth exists in its purest form! Who has it? Who is preaching it? There is ample evidence that a church does exist that teaches the truth of the Bible!

GOD bless

Most of the bible is literal. It gets a bit symbolic, especially in revelations, but all its really saying is "be good or you go bye-bye" whats so hard to understand?

This is a very hard question. Firstly the geneologies found in the bible when traced have proved true according to archeology and historical writings. When we look at Jesus's lineage in Luke 23-38 says impart:- "Jesus himself when he commenced his work, was about thirty years old, being the son, as the opinions was, of Joseph, son of Heli, etc, etc, down to son of Adam, son of God. " Therefore we know that Adam must have been a real person, not just symbolic. The Beasts of Revelation are symbolic cause we know that Rev 1:1 tells us that Jesus Christ "sent for his angel and presented it in signs through him to his slave John." God throughout time has revealed his truth and his purpose to various ones whom he has chosen as worthy....not to everyone. That is why Jesus part in salvation was referred to a the "Sacred Secret" in the book of Romans 16:25 "Now to him who can make you firm in accord with the good news I declare and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the sacred secret which has been kept in silence for long-lasting times." Daniel, God's prophet was given a vision and in fact cried cause he could not understand it and was told by God in Daniel12:4 "And as for you, O Daniel, make secret the words and seal up the book, until the time of the end. Many will rove about, and the true knowledge will become abundant." As you can see the revealing of God's word over the centuries has been gradual, but as that scripture said that True knowledge would become abundant in the time of the end and many will rove about with this knowledge. If you had a secret and something priceless to offer, something that you had lost your son to, would you be willing to give this gift to just anyone, or would you choose to give it to those who sincerley were grateful and showed it by their words and actions? Amos 3:7 says "For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets."
Who are renowned for roaming around with Bible truths taking it to peoples doors, who are put down for being Bible bashers and living their lives straight by the book? Matthew 24:14 says "And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come." God want's all people to have accurate knowledge John 17:3 says "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you the only true God and of the one whom you sent forth Jesus Christ". Only by means of accurate knowledge can we have unshakable faith and a full understanding of what God's will is for us and the future.

of course ... its understood spiritually and its not necessary to keep track .. in fact the meanings behind some things that seem simple are so deep a person will continue to get new things out of the same passage constantly and its always good and additive ... not contradictory ..

I'm sure there are plenty of fundamentalist Christians (especially in America) who will tell you that every word in the bible is true. Old testament as well as new.
