I have a question regarding microsoft excel. Basically my dilemma is that I have four separate files of a large amount of data that I need to consolidate into one table. On each sheet I have the main info and that data regarding it and I need to consolidate all that data from each test into one sheet without having duplicates. I hope that makes sense. Here is a quick example.
A 1
B 2
C 3

B 2
E 4
F 5

A 6
C 4
D 2

I need that merged like this.
A 1 6
B 2 2
C 3 4
D 2
E 4
F 5

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

=IF(AND($A4<>$A3,$A4<>$A5),$B4,IF(AND($A4=$A3,$A4<>$A5),SUMIF($A$1:$A$19997,$A4,$B$1:$B$19997),""))

This formula i made for adding inventory issues. it takes like items in "a" column and add the number in "b" column.

so:

xyz 12
xyz 1
xyz 4 17 formula results in this column
abc 3 3
def 1
def 2
def 3 6
ghi 2 2
jkl 4 4

kinda hard to explain but sort the spread sheet by column "a" so all like items are together. paste this formula in a column to the right whichever one you pick it just has to start below the first row. cut and paste it all the way to the bottom and it will add everything that is the same. you can then cut and past the "results only" to another column and sort by that column this leaves the added values together and you can delete the duplicates and the formulas. you can prob modify this formula to make it display the data as you want it show but i dont have time to do it. hope this helps

i dont know why the formula isnt showing all the way in this screen but im me if you want it

highlight the cells you would like to merge right click format cells under alignment place a tick mark on merge cells or if you have a small letter "a" with arrows left and right on your toolbars, just highlight the cells and click it. oops... warning! if you merge them. the data on the other cell will be deleted.
