I have been ask this many times its shape like a cookie, looks like a cookie, even taste like a cookie, but its called a cracker.

That is tough. It is sweet like a cookie.... but graham crackers are sweet as well so i'm going with cracker. I think its more about the consistancy and not the taste. Animal Crackers are flakey ...unlike cookies which are more chewy.

Animal crackers is a cookie. its called a cracker beacause does an animal cookie even sound right??

It is a cookie but it is low in sugar and low in fat. Often times, diabetics are asked to keep animal crackers handy and eat 2 or 3 every so often to keep their blood sugar stable.

i think one time when it first came out it was a cracker & never changed it to cookie...

Yes, it IS a cookie. If you check the recipe used to make them, it's just like that of any other cookie. Only with no chocolate chips.
