it's not a fact, there is no proof that any god exists

2007-07-02 12:31:40 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 4 1

The belief that there is no God is the conclusion made from people looking at the evidence that has been presented to support the existence of God. None of the evidence presented could be considered empirical, and so the conclusion is that until THAT changes, belief in God is rooted in faith, not fact.

Unless a person feels the presence of God personally - and that is always a subjective evaluation - there isn't much reason to place faith in it.

It's not the fact (or lack thereof) that God exist or doesn't exist that's annoying. What's annoying are the people who try to shove their religion down your throat and proceed, under the same breath, to tell you that your're wrong because you don't believe in the same things as they do.

I also have a problem with people stating something as a "fact" when there's no solid evidence to back that assertion up. Example is your question.

I'm not against the "fact." I find myself questioning the idea that God exists pretty frequently. I wonder, in the context of this question for example, whether you can supply a definition of "God" that we might entertain as a starting point for discussing the existence of non-existence of such an entity.

The vast majority of people in the world accept that God(or gods or the Eternal Ultimate) exists.

The lack of trust. People think that if you can't see something then it doesn't exist. Just like God. We can't see him we just have to believe that he's there without seeing him. Some people are afraid to accept that someone who is supposed to give them eternal life is invisible. It's really just the fact of not being able to see Him.

Why are you so against the fact that God doesn't exist?

Because you need FAITH to believe in something you can not directly see. I believe that people are so against the fact that God exists because so many people only know of judgements of christians. Why would anyone care what a christian says if it brings judgment on them. If instead we could prove our way is better by actually living better lives and just helping people as an example instead of bringing judgment on them they would see how it could make their lives better and more fullfiling. Perhaps then they would have FAITH in what you helped them "see".

Because it isn't a fact and yet people go around claiming it is.

Facts are proveable.

Prove god exists.

For the people who believe in God....it's because of faith.

When you don't have faith....God doesn't exist and for us that's a fact.

For the same reason that people are against the 'fact' that Santa Claus exists.
