I loved Goodfellas answer. I followed the left hand path, it was and still is my way, people of the right hand way do good works seem to have a happy family life and such. On the other hand {pun intended} the left hand way is not normal according to society and most religions, left handers are viewed with distrust and rightly so for this can be the *sudden* path. Also The Angel of Light is said to sit here as has been said. "All is well and all is well and all things are well". ~*~

There is no left or right side in God.
There is no front or back side for God.
And yet when the pictures or idols are prepared as a symbolic expression of the Nirguna Brahman, the right side denotes the male expressions and the left denotes the female expressions. Hense it is called Ardhanarishwar.
In Hindu methods of worshipping of God in idols as per the Agama Sastras, there is always a female consort beside the male idol. Here the female idol signifies all the softer emotions such as Love and Compassion, whereas the male represents courage and knowledge.
The idea being that even if the male deity is unmoved in granting the boons for you, the female deity would butt in and recommend it in your behalf.
Although the whole idea appears to be primitive and childish, there is a sound meaning in the entire system.
It should be understood here that in Hinduism God is not completely a male oriented principle, but a harmonious combination of both the male and female equally.
This principle had eventually paved the way for the emancipation of women in Hinduism.
Even in selecting a name for a male child, it is common to observe the inclusion of feminine names along with the male names, such as Radha Krishna, Sita Rama, Lakshmi Narayana etc.
Therefore the left hand of God is presumed to be the hand that grants all the boons to the devotees, while the right hand signifies Abhaya or protection.

Left hand of the god would be a complimentory to his right hand if one is love then other would be hate . If one is peace other would be war. HE needs both to keep his darling earth in perfect balance.

Theophillus definitely got the Biblical reference for this metaphor. hrld_sleeper : I love your answer! I never thought of this before... If Christ is our mediator and the "sheep" go with him on the right hand, then the "goats" go with satan on the left.
I remember reading something about those who reject Christ or who sin against knowledge will be delivered to the buffetings of satan until they have paid the price of their sins (eg karmic debt?).
In either case, both satan and Christ are being servants of God (ie the hands of God) in preparing God's children for an eternity of light.
Love and Peace to all.

All the different denominations (of money) illustrate the left and right hand of God. It is the eagle, and his head is either dexter (right) in peace time, or sinister (left) in war.
Virgil Cain knew this all too well....

To sit someone to your own right hand side, was in ancient times, a sign of respect, affection and great care for the person.
There was none associated with placing someone on your left hand side.

The left hand is where the rejects go. If you look at the history of art depicting the devil you will find he is always left handed, even the devil on the Underwood Deviled Ham can! Left handed people are the minority and were considered somehow defective. Also the right hand is used for eating and the left hand is used for *** wiping, and as such, unclean.

This one is easy, the right hand of God, being Christ. The left hand of God is Satan. This is plainly explained in the book of Job, if Christ is the defense, Satan is the district attorney.

You can argue this so many ways. God is believed not to have human form. This is purely a literary form.
It can also be argued that the left hand of God would be Satan. How? Because Satan was once an angel who fell from the heavens.

And only yesterday someone asked why nobody asks meaningful questions on here!
Creating and returning.
Diving into the universe and finding Himself again.
Doing and discovering.
Forgetting and remembering.
Right and left.
