A Flying V... any Flying V, is the most uncomfortable electric guitar design ever devised. Have you tried to hold one while standing up AND sitting down? If so, and you are OK with it, then go for it.

If not, I would suggest you do so before dumping the money.

There are several things to consider when buying a guitar. One would be of course the cost of the guitar and the quality you are purchasing. Will this guitar have much resale value if I decide that the guitar is just not for me?. Though Dean guitars are decent guitars they will most likely not have the resale value of lets say an American made Strat or Les Paul but then you probably won't have to pay as much for the Dean. Is the guitar new? You didn't say but if not what kind of condition is it in. All these things are factors in deciding whether or not it is a good purchase. Then the most important thing in my opinion would be how does this guitar feel in your hands. When you pick it up does it seem "right" for you. Everyone has differents things that are important as far as looks and sound such as single coil verses humbuckers but I think most everyone will agree that it should feel good in your hands or you are not going to be able to play it well. Some guitars have a longer scale such as the Fender Strat ,25 and 1/2 inch, verses say a Gibson Les Paul with 24 and 3/4 inch neck. That is definitely something that will make a difference if you have short fingers. I would advise finding someone who plays professionally and ask them to just look the guitar over and help you make your decision. I hope you will find that most musicians are more than happy to share their knowledge, afterall isn't that what music is all about...sharing what we have with others? Good luck.

I've said this a hundred times on yahoo, you have to play a guitar first, feel the action, like the sound, and like the way it feels in YOUR hand. No one here can tell you what sounds good to your ears, what sounds good to one person may not sound good to another. I don't go by brand, you have to go by sound, feel, and action. Brand names mean nothing to me, I have to play it and feel it and listen to it. I bought a $1120.00 classical guitar from Guitar Center, and after three weeks took it back, (the Guitar Center is great with returns) just a couple of months ago, after playing it a while I didn't like the sound or action so I took it back and got another for about four hundred less, and I loved it a lot better, you never can tell with guitars, Brand or cost doesn't mean everything, you have to sit and play them to see what is best for your style of playing. I found a really sweet Yamaha acoustic cut away electric for about $250.00 and I couldn't believe the sound that inexpensive guitar had, even the people sitting around in the store were amazed at the sound it had, they had several, it took a while to play around to find just the right one, they all have a little different sound. So I can't in all honesty tell you that this guitar is a good choice, that's completely up to you !!!!!!!!

For the most part, it just depends on the style of music... Most people, no matter what they say, also want their guitar to look good. So that's a big personal opinion. My suggestion would be any of the Les Paul guitars.

depends on the style you play. every guitar has a different sound, you just gotta do some research. trust me, don't buy a guitar solely based on looks and hype. I bought a les paul without playing it much and i regret it. so do your research and play a bunch of guitars and see what you like.

I take it U want electric? go to ur local music shop, try out as many as u can in ur price range. Are they easy to finger,? . Do they sound appropriate for the music u play? Try and play them thru an amp like the one u have. Are they going to be easy to stand up with to play? One will hit u as the right one for u. Hope this helps
