We are planning to get a small dog that goes well with our malti-poo mix (maltese+poodle). We need a dog that:
1. Doesn't really shed hair
2.Doesn't have too much hair
We don't really want a poodle though. Thx for the help. =]

I have a Schnauzer. Great dog I love him. Does n't Shed, I get his cut every six weeks.
Maltese are good dogs too. But Check out the terriers. There are a lot that do not shed.

Lasha Apso - it doesn't shed but it does need to be groomed regularly because it has long hair if you let it grow. They are very bright and loyal dogs. They were originally bred to gaurd royalty - they would alert the larger gaurd dogs of danger - so they can be a bit barky when they hear something or someone they don't recognize.

how about a bichon?
of course you have to do researching to see if you'd like that breed..
but go check out the local humane society and see if there is a dog you want to look at. and then ask the people who work there to see if that dog is good with other dogs and such.

Pomeranians are great little balls of energy..but they are really hairy xD so I would say Chihuahua
