What should I do? My dad is mad at me 'cus i put on black nail polish. he said it's for "goths" what should i tell him??

My mom hates mine and she gives me dirty looks I just keep it on to make her mad... and black nail polish isnt just for goths... I love black its my favorite color but Im not goth

Keep your nails neat and trimmed, and use a high-quality polish and nice top coat. Don't let them get all chipped and nasty. Tell your dad black is a popular color for everyone right now. Find some celebrity pictures online and show him not only goths wear it.

Is your Dad a tyrant? Is he vindictive and hateful? Does he Hang you by your toes and make you eat rotten food? I don't hear that he's abusive to you in any way here. SO it is my suggestion that you humbly and gladly respect your wise Father's point of view. I hate it when people tell kids or teens to disrespect their parents. IT'S SO RUDE!!!! Showing respect to your Dad isn't a bad thing, it's a great thing. Just don't wear it. Is it that hard to do something nice for your Pops once in awhile? It's just nail polish. You can find a suitable color to wear that won't make Pop repulse. BTW I thought black nail polish was GOTH too.

He wants you to be a good girl that he can be proud of. Most goth girls are quite trampy, and embarrassing to be around. (think of him in a pair of overalls, and a straw hat out front of your school) He doesnt want you to be mis-labelled because of your nail colour. As a father, I wouldn't want my daughter to be wearing black nail polish either. If you like black, then maybe you could get him to buy you some other black accessories, like maybe an ipod or something

well, don't get mad and start an argument about it cause that will only make him like it less. what i would say to do is to just ask him why he thinks its for goths and maybe explain to him why you like it. but try to keep it calm cause like i said Ive been in this situation before with my mom and the more mad you are the less likely he will be to give in. so just talk about it and tell him that if you like it then maybe he should at least give it a chance.

black is just a color. people have been painting their nails black since nail polish existed. their your nails. goths are allowed to wear more than black.

Rachie, i'm far greater than 30 and that i positioned on black and different dark colorings. the single rule you will possibly desire to stay with while wearing dark colorings on nails is to maintain them on the shorter side. i'm in NYC, and this look is IT perfect now. pay attention to r28hart, she's perfect on the money. i'm presently wearing OPI's Russian army on my nails. i like it!

why do you have to tell him anything? he's your dad and has the final say so, take it off if that's what he wants. i have to agree with him to a point. i don't care if it's for goths or not, it's just ugly.

Tell him that you wont make him wear it any more he can go back to his baby doll pink nail polish again. Tell him to be mature its just a cosmetic for Christ sake. its not like you had Satan tattooed on your forehead .
