Some claim the new testament gives examples of prophesies come true, but it is evident that people distorted events to make them appear to be old testament prophesies come true.
One can prophesy anything, and then twist a later event to make it appear related. Fortune tellers do it all the time.

What part of ...Jerusalem is going down... didn't come true?
A large part of biblical prophesy is in predicting the obvious...
A number of geologists and seismologists and oceanographers say that South Florida is overdue for a tidal wave...but if I say that and it happens am I a prophet? Yet if (or rather when) this happens, I myself will say: Moses, and Jesus, predicted it! Because there are many, many other things about S. Florida that fall in line with OT prophesy, not just its geographical location. As a matter of fact, that is why I no longer live there!

A lot of people need a reason to live, and to stay moral. Things like this give meaning to many, however true or not. I understand your views and personally ask the same question. I see it the same way, but it keeps society balanced.

I even have examine Watchtowers that pass back into the 1930s and Awakes! and the Golden Age I even have in no way seen a prophecy in any of them that substitute into made via Jehovah's Witnesses. Jehovah's Witnesses, do no longer prophecy. they attempt to interpret prophecy, sometime the translation is erroneous or misrepresented via others. yet they do no longer prophecy, nor do they declare to correctly known each and every little thing, or interpret each and every little thing properly. yet they a minimum of attempt to understand the prophecies and interpret them in accordance to Bible based wisdom, no longer purely a theoretical punt as many others do.

Pretty clear, when Jesus Himself says it.

Luke 4
17The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written...20Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him, 21and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."
