Fellow travelers on the way, I request your assistance.
I'm almost 17 and I have a really unhealthy addiction to porn and masturbating. I do this as a vain substitute to the fact that I have found no girl worthy of my love and fear I won't until I've achieved enough money to move to tahiti or that I never will at all. I try to keep telling myself that my day is gonna come and that the grass is greener on the other side, but that doesn't help much because I feel I've been waiting too long already. I've been trying to stop time and time again but everytime I do I relapse. Can you help a struggling fully confirmed Christian out?

that religion stuff is all a bunch of ( insert a bleep here) masturbating is natural dont ever let any religion make you feel less of yourself if it does then its all a hoax because we are NOT sinners we are all human beings and yes we do bad things from time to time like animals do but thats how we learn instead of listening to what others tell you or in this case a religion why not think for yourself? because in the end when things fails you will NOT see these others suffer for it its all on YOU

I am so sorry you are going through this. It is very hard. I have friends who struggle with porn addiction and I work in a counseling center where I see the aftermath. God still loves you, and I am sure He has someone in mind for you. And even if He hasn't, He will give you the strength to survive. I've been wondering about that "special someone" lately, too. Don't give up on a dream. If you are frequently in the role of "the best friend who never gets the girl", trust me, it flips after highschool, when the girls finally realize they want someone they can trust- like the "best friend". God has a plan for you, and it exceeds the pain you're feeling now, it goes beyond the wildest dreams you could have about your life. All He wants is trust.

And if you are struggling with frequent relapses back into porn, get an accountability partner or group, someone you trust, who can build you back up when you fall again. It will get better, I promise.

if you really wanna stop masturbating and all, distract yourself when you feel the urge- go for a jog, call a friend. about the porn, the worst thing if you wanna stop watching it or whatever is to keep it a secret, tell someone you trust that you have a problem, get rid of it in their prence and stay accountable, just like with any addiction, you cant beat it on your own

Oh whatever you are in natural part of your life. Boys hit their heated period in their teenage years and it last all the way up into their 30's. Women hit theirs by the age of 28 and it last into their 50's. You're actually doing yourself a favor by masturbating, your are keeping yourself sane. Drop the porn, but the masturbation is natural. Your day will come and you will get a girl. I don't know about the Tahiti stuff. Hope this helps.

*As some will see this is a particle repeat to a similar question but feel free to read it over and over until it finally sinks in*

"Every sperm is sacred, every sperm is good, every sperm is needed in your neighborhood."
-Monty Python; Meaning of Life
***JUST KIDDING***
Not to poke fun (no pun intended :D),
You are talking about porn addition and masterbating as sinning. How can masturbating be a sin? If guys do not "masterbate" doesn't your balls start to hurt? As for the porn, guys are visual and need visual stimulation. Just remember that porns are not based in reality of how sex really happens. Porn is created to fulfil men's fantasies to be visually stimulating. If you really feel you are addicted go get help. (but do not go to the church for help they will only make you feel worse which will not help). There are counselors and groups for people with addiction issues like this (use your search engine to find these in your area).
This goes back to the old question of God stacking the deck. Would a true kind, loving, benevolent God punish his children for the very urges he gave them? Especially one that causes physical pain if you do not do it (like masturbation).
For all of you who feel like this is a sin, why don't you weigh it against pre-marital sex, rape or pedophilia. Which one do you feel is worse? You christians need to keep it in perspective. Many of the sins you talk about in the bible are there because at the time these stories were written people were living in the inhospitable desert and the tribes' survival was based on whether or not they could have as many children as possible.
How many of you who claim to be christian follow the dietary and sex laws clearly laid out in Leviticus? Probably none of you.
Rest assured in the grand sceme of things a young man 'jerking off' to some porno is small fry compared to the true evils that men do to each other everyday.
"Do as you will as long as it harms none," this includes your self.

I agree with Carrie. Drop the porn, porn is corny. Its fake. I knew someone that thought that girls were suppose to be yelling and screaming during sex & other unmetionable things. Its fake.
You are keeping yourself sane and clean. Dont have to worry about STD's or the risk of getting a girl (the wrong girl) pregnant too early in life & before marriage.

It's one of the greatest lies of Satan that Jesus can't help you when you feel like you have no way out and have failed before. The answer to all of you problems is to acknowledge God in everything that you do, and all of these things will be given to you.
I feel like that a lot too, because I seem to always fail when trying to repent, but there is hope, it's in the word of God. Read the Bible every day, talk to God. It's going to be ok. God can't wait to help you. I'll pray for you.

I do not know your circumstances. I only know what you have revealed here.
"unhealthy addiction to porn and masturbating." "no girl worthy of my love" I think you should strengthen you unselfish works of kindness. I recommend a outreach ministry in the big city or some where that focuses on helping others. Practice daily random acts of kindness.

Son the best way to stop is by, placing all your trust in God, and instead of grabbing for yourself when the urge hits, grab the bible and open it..prayer is a wounderfull tool to combat satan and all the evil spirits that wonder thoughout the world.. God loves you

Are you saved? You can not resist that demon if you are not saved.

No person can serve God with the nature they are born with. God has to radically execute that nature, the nature they were born with, and then God must must immediately infuse that person with the Holy Spirit. It is only then that they can serve God, and resist this.

You need God to save you if you are not. If you claim to be a child of God you need to confess this sin to God, mean that confession, make up you mind then and there that you will serve God, abandon everything pornographic, throw out all the stuff relating to this evil vile vice,

IMMEDIATELY,

and lean on God

WHOLEHEARTEDLY.

There are 5 things and these things are not in any particular order which you must do.
1) Pray, pray, pray, pray, pray, etc.
2) Read the word DAILY and meditate on what you read.
3) God to church as often as possible,
4) Testify/wittiness
5) Give tithes and offering from what you earn.

I hope this has helped. Get with your pastor and ask his help.

POST SCRIPT: By the way, I know what you are going through from experience.
