It frightens them. It is power beyond belief. A friend of mine (a tester for drivers for DMV) was testing a man who didn't speak much English...They were about to cross train tracks (at the same time as an approaching train) and he wasn't stopping....she said, In the Name of Jesus STOP!....and the train stopped.

Obviously, it's not as powerful as some would have you believe.
Edit - Sparki777, is that why people say "motherf*cker" when they are upset, also? Is there power in that word, as well? If you actually think about this for a moment, you'll realize that using Jesus as a swear word is part of the vernacular of a society that was once ruled by Christianity. There is no power in the word, hun. There is just habit.

Because Satan has blinded them to not think that... He wants people to think he is more powerful and sadly, he has fooled a lot of people into thinking that....but not me... I know the power of His Name, I have experienced the Power of his Name.. Praise Jesus..

When people stub their toes, do they shout, "George W. Bush!!!"
When something tragic happens, do people exclaim,
"Oh my Bono!"
Nope. They call on the name of the Lord, because there is POWER in that name. If you don't believe me, make up you mind to swap the word "God" for the name of your favorite person, whomever that is, whenever you trip or hear something that annoys you or whatever. See how tough it is, see how no other name carries that kind of power.

because jesus is a part of religion. religion is an opinion. the opinions of people usually effect what other people think. God cant just come down to earth and say "hey. im God worship me" you cant force everyone to belive in Him. God works at his own pace. you just have to let him do his job

Because God gave us all free choice. We either listen to God or the devil, whether we know it or not. A person that is rebelliou sagainst God, is someone that only will hear from the devil, and wont hear God. The devil speaks lies and draws them into confusion and conflict and all of his lies, even doing it sometime in the pretext that it is God they hear. But, when we know God and His word, we know what He does and doesnt want. So the only way to know He is God is to know His word and then you know who is talking to you. Jesus is powerful, but He wont force anyoen to know Him.

it is coming to be the last days ppl are foolish... this is earth a sinful one too!! u have to understand only a few will get there and that is if they walk the straignt and narrow... so many just give up because either they dont have the patience or the passion...
