What you need is something you can step up and down on that's around 2feet tall no less than 11/2 feet tall.
What you do is step up and down with one leg repeatedly 20 times. Do that 20 times on each leg a day. You should see a difference in 1 week. You'll know that it's working when you can feel the muscles in the legs tighten while you're stepping up. You'll get tired fast but you must do at least 20.
After you finish I guaranteed you'll fell like you've had a great workout. Just make sure you stretch your legs after wards so you won't be sore. When I first started to do them I didn't realize I was adding muscle to my legs, till one day they just look pretty muscular. Let me know how it works out for you.

There is no easy way.
It is called "work" out for a reason.
The leg consists of mulitple parts.

Squads: Stand straight, bend your legs(back must be straight!!), and get back up.

Home-curls: Stand straight, kneel with one leg, stand straight.

dunno-name: Stand straight, get on your toes as high as you can, get down but not touch the ground with the end of your foot and get on your toes again.

I recommend weights. Increase reps and weights when you feel confident to do so.

Stair Case walking, squats, simple leg weights (#1 answer and it's the easiest) you just attach a weight around your leg, that you can handle and go about your normal day!
Stationary bike, but the simplest method is just simple leg weights, add them to staircase walking, pedeling your stationary bike, walking. they fit with just about any exercice routine. Just wrap them loosely around your legs and go. take them around with you during the day and you can take them off when needed. Make sure they don't cut off your circulation and that they are not too heavy. They also add shape to your leg muscles.
