It really works well for me but I'm not sure about what they use in it as it's very strong. Is it good for my hair? Will it affect my hair in the long run?

No, its crap
the most important factor now-a-days is to make sure your shampoo does NOT have SLS Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or sister ALS Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate in it....
those 2 ingredients have come to the surface as destroying hair follicles....which results in hair thinning and hair loss, one of the biggest problems in 20 and 30 year olds.....if you were to call every major shampoo manufacturer right now and asked them what the biggest change they see in their shampoo's their answer would be the elimination of those 2 ingredients........
go get your shampoo...............right now............look at the ingredients......
is it in there?
If so , throw it away
do you use body liquid soap as well? look on there......its in there too............
why would you use something you wash your body with.......on your hair?
there is a list of 20 shampoo's with no SLS in them on my hair blog.......if you need some names.............

I'm using it right now since its cheaper, the breaks over shampoo. I told my hairdresser I was using it and she about died. She said herbal essences is awful for hair! Shampoo from a professional salon is the best, although pricey. Sunsilk is not any better either.

Yes, I think herbal essence is OK for your hair, I love the moisturizing shampoo, it really does flood my hair with moisture. But the straightening one is a waste of money.

The absolute best is the new brand called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! Organix has different collections for different hair types which are all amazing! You can get Organix at Target, Albertsons, Kroger, Bed Bath & Beyond, Duane Reade, Safeway, etc. Its the best! You'll love it!!

all shampoos are good for your hair. that's why they're shampoos. but if you want some specific thing to happen (stronger hair, thicker hair, colored hair, etc.) you might want to try some professional products.
