New study says you'll be healthier & live longer than those skinny Bi@tches!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070628/hl_nm/overweight_rates_dc;_ylt=ApxovMZibzZ_qVQE4jKmhM3VJRIF

"Mortality rates from heart disease, pneumonia and cancer for normal-weight and overweight individuals weren't significantly different, the researchers found. But underweight men and women were nearly four times as likely to die from any cause compared with as overweight individuals, and nearly 18 times more likely to die from cancer. Heart disease mortality in the underweight group was almost four times greater than among normal-weight individuals."

This only applies to over-weight & mild-obesity... severe obesity was not included in the study.

But the underweight people were probably smokers!

Unfortunately, this and other studies don't consider confounding factors, like the fact that smokers are more commonly underweight, and of course, have higher incidence of heart disease and cancers.

A healthy, normal weight is the best. Not underweight, not overweight.

Well, I never met a pie I didn't like, so I should live a long life. If I am reincarnated, I hope I return in the Lillian Russell era, where bosomy women with big bottoms were popular. I might have to work on the tiny waist, but two out of three ain't bad.

In my lifetime, I have tried it all. I have been on 600 calorie diets where a celery stick and a lettuce leaf were a good lunch. I have swallowed pills, hiked miles, huffed, puffed and starved. I was a human yo-yo, first fat, then thin, and all of the stages inbetween.

When I get to the Pearly Gates, after I have lived a long life trying to peel off the fat, I have two questions to ask. First, of course, it is "Who killed JFK?", then I'm going to ask, "Why me, Lord?"

And I expect Paradise to be filled with banana cream pies.
