Are dog turds dangerous?

i live with my grandparents and thier two dogs crap all over the house. I feel like it is making me ill. Of course I'm the one who has to clean it all the time.

Only if you catch worms from not washing your hands.

If you are a child and have to live with your grandparents you might consider talking to your caseworker about another placement. If you are an adult then get a job, stop whining, and move out.

It's true: dog turds are only dangerous if you eat them.

However, in many cases, it only takes a trace amount of ingestion to lead to illness. While nobody deliberately eats dog turds, if you clean up the turds, or touch surfaces that have been dirty, you can get fecal matter on your hands and under your fingernails. If you do not wash your hands, your dirty hands can contaminate your food. Thus, you have just eaten dog turds!

Dogs often carry parasites that can make people sick. you can google the words "visceral larval migrans" for some particularly scary forms of dog parasite-human infections.

Since you're cleaning up the mess, make sure you ALWAYS wash your hands with hot soapy water right afterwards.

And if your grandparents can't housebreak their pets, tell them you're gonna report them to the health department.

well they can be, you could step in it, slip and fall , land face down in another crap , and soffocate.. that would be considered dangerous.

just train them to do it where they have to...they need to learn and have the carpets cleaned regularly by the carpet cleaner.
