...and all of "you people" were QUICK to judge.....INTERESTING.

Yet at other times you're QUICK to STEAL the Words of Jesus (and misapply them). 'thou shall not judge, thou shall not judge!!". interesting.

May, indeed....interesting. And by the way....where are those "wordy fellows NOW?

Scif,
""Thou shalt not judge" IS a "stupid" concept. It came from ATHEIST though. NOT from Jesus.

Running, Don't mis understand me. I'm NOT saying that it is wrong to judge. Niether did Jesus. Indeed it is PROPER to judge, but to judge according to rightiousness; and THAT for ME is according to the Word of God.

Cricket, We are to point out "wrong', yes. The results of their "wrong" has already been judged. There's no more that a mere man can say, that can determine onothers fate. You don't have to worry.

.....by the way, Cricket, I'm curious. You say:
"We are allowed to see the difference between right and wrong."
Who's "rule" are YOU under?

I do think in SOME WAYS judging is wrong even though, yes I do judge sometimes. That does not make me a hypocrite though. It would IF I said,"I don't judge" then later said "Judging is wrong".

I've never suggested not judging.
I'm all in favor of judging, as long as you do it correctly. I spent a lot of time and effort learning how to properly judge claims about the nature of the world, and I'm fairly good at it.

"Thou shalt not judge" is one of the stupidest ideas known to man.

Any society without judgment is one where anarchy and crime run rampant.

The only way to prevent crime is to judge that it is wrong and then work to stop it.

...

I agree that the idea is not one that Jesus held. His actions regarding the temple money-changers prove that.

However, I have heard the phrase said by far more Christians than atheists.

Wait, what?

There is a difference between judging and discerning.

Example:
"Oh, you committed adultery, so you're going to hell!"
That is judging.

Example:
"Adultery is wrong."
That is discernment.

We are allowed to see the difference between right and wrong. We are NOT allowed to condemn a person for doing wrong.

See the difference?

Yeah, but you asked them to judge. So you were basically creating an alternate universe in which the judging was left up to them.

Jesus was talking about judging people, not things. Besides that, you asked for peoples' opinions and you got them. Now stop complaining.

You asked the question...they just gave you answers.
"By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
Just thought I would match your verse. Maybe people are letting you know what they think is "bad fruit" not judging. Maybe you are judging them. Think about it.

i do agree that some of those people were judgemental and rude... but when you ask a question don't be surprised when you get answers... plus.. aren't you also being judgemental of them now??? everytime you point a finger there's 3 pointing back at you.
